Coming to the 'story'...

I'm a writer. And with that, I also became an educator and entrepreneur.

I side hustled for 10 months in 2020 because something was missing. 

I refuse to believe you shouldn't be kicked to go to work when you wake up. I refuse to believe that you need to reach a certain 'level' to do high-impact work. Labels and designations aren’t exciting either. 

And I strongly believe that there's enough wealth we can all create if we play by the mindset of abundance and not scarcity.

We have a duty to be of service to other people. And we only have one chance at life to tap into our potential and unleash it.

So I quit my job in 2021 to write full time.

That led to:

I stopped doing sales for my products. All my products are also priced on the higher side. But let me be honest -

The key word being 'eventually'.

It's the reason I don't do hard sales.

When I deleted my Instagram influencer account, it's because I want people to feel abundant.

Not scarce.

I complete 6 weeks of mini retirement, and 4 weeks of not working at all today. 

Here’s how that’s going:

(Not like anyone has asked me so far, but still 😝)

1. I thought I’ll miss working because I always do. But as long as I’m still writing some posts like this one today, that fulfills my itch to write. 

2. I’m spending at least 4 hours a day sitting with my grandma. And then lots of time with my mom and partner too whenever they’re free. 

3. I’m watching lots of movies and shows. Esp the Christmas ones!🎄 Reading LOTS of Frida McFadden.

And that’s what I do the entire day.

Not mentioning my sheer basics like working out or meditating as that’s a daily thing since I was 18, so it’s as important as breathing for me.

I’ve spent 4 years building a business. 

And I never thought I’d be so happy being absolutely unproductive and a potato. 🥔 

I never thought I’d not miss working. 

I’m grateful multiple times a day that I’m getting to do this and reap the fruits of what I’ve built over the years. 

Because why would I wait till 50 when I can do it till 29 🦁 We have limited winters with our parents and grandparents.  

Of course, this is my definition of what matters and what success is. 

You chase yours, you beautiful human.

Hi, I write online. And I know I have a tiny bit of impact on you in terms of influencing how you think. So here's what I try to make you feel: 
 
• abundant instead of scarce 
• hopeful if you're stuck 
• 100% honesty policy 
 
After deleting my Instagram influencer account in 2020, I realised it made me feel less.  
 
Less pretty, successful, and rich. 
 
So I try to do the opposite with my words. 
 
I don't hard sell or hit the insecurities of vulnerable people to sell my stuff. It works, but I just cannot. 
 
I'm honestly scared.  
 
Scared for people believing in the notion of getting that perfect body that is airbrushed. 
 
People think those private jet photos are in real jets and not sets. 
 
Believing every time someone says 'I make $10k a month' even if they have no credibility or proof. 
 
Here's what you can do for your information diet. Follow people: 
 
• who uplift you 
• learn relevant stuff from 
• don't make you feel 'less' 
• share success but also how they got there 
• don't use your insecurities for a quick sale 
 
I'm a fan of people who talk about building a biz and making money because I try to integrate their blueprint into my goals, and it works (steal this trick). 
 
Everything I've done is by learning from books, YouTube, and Twitter because the easiest way to get somewhere is to learn from someone who's been there. 
 
But if they talk talk and don't tell how, it's fishy. 
 
Please be mindful of what you consume because it impacts how you think, which impacts how you behave, which impacts actions that build your life.

If you have young team members, read this. If you're junior and unmotivated, this is for you (because I know what it's like). 
 
One of my ex-bosses worked 14h a day and had 2 kids. 
 
Another ex-boss took pride in being a workaholic and worked 18 hours a day. 
 
My creator friend works 8 am to 2 am. He's young and doesn't have a family but that doesn't mean this isn't ruining his health. And no amount of money will make up for it. 
 
When I was working a corporate job, my motivation to grow dipped. Everyone higher than me: 
 
• worked longer hours 
• sacrificed time with self + family 
• worked odd hours (for stakeholders abroad) 
 
So the only motivation is a salary hike with a designation? 
 
It isn't lack of work-life balance but lack of living a life which is demotivating your younger employees. And while they may be tied to you because of their circumstances, I'm sure you know unhappy folks aren't the most efficient. 
 
The ball is in your court now :) 
 
Times have changed, now it's your turn.

Being a solopreneur is fun.

2020 is when my life changed because of ONE move - deleting Instagram.

I dug deep into how our brain works, and concepts like:
• dopamine rush
• instant gratification

And the importance of changing this so you can:
• get ideas + work on them
• find your purpose
• attain excellence
• be successful

With technology penetrating every area of our lives, I won't be surprised if more of us are impatient, scrolling, anxious, and sad. I don't say it, plenty of studies do :)

Anyhoo, that one move led to many other moves. 

Pick any one move to start with, and see how it works wonders.

Unpopular opinion (which most of you won't like to read): we're losing our ability to think and are drowning ourselves in perfection.

We're all doing the same make-up, hyping up the same shoes, putting the same song in the same reels, being videographers and models under social pressure.

Most of us haven't found inner peace, or our ikigai, and are frustrated with the lives we lead. Yet we've accepted it as the universal truth because 'everyone is doing it'. This is leading to deteriorating physical and mental health.

I can go on but I must stop now so you can finish reading this post :)

In this process, we're forgetting that our mind and body are a universe of its own. It's a powerhouse, and it's where all our solutions lay.

We're numbing our brain cells for dopamine kicks and validation.

How beautifully would things change, if only...

We believed in our children's dreams instead of pushing them to the extent that they need to work on their mindset and build their self-worth from scratch.

Someone's LinkedIn content tells you a lot about their personality. I'll show you how you can know someone is insecure.

Insecure folks:
• Shit on others to feel better
̐• Try to talk down about a segment
• Dwindle around negative content (misery finds company)

So every time I see someone laughing at a segment of people, I figure they're insecure in some way. It's an unhealthy coping mechanism to feel better about yourself by pushing others down.

Secure people
• Write for the joy of writing
• Never crib about the algorithm
̐• Rise by lifting others and being of service

So next time you read online, you can learn a lot about someone through their content. And it's not their fault because social media does a great job with comparison and making you feel 'less'.

In this hyper stimulated world, I hope you can find balance and attract abundance.

You're designed to win, feel good, and be healthy.
