Imagine seeing something you made come alive on a box or a banner for the first time.
That rush? You can’t forget it.

I started out helping local academies/classes get their banners and billboards designed and printed. 

Nothing fancy. Just a kid with a 4 GB RAM laptop, sitting at home and arguing over font size.
And every single time a print came out right… it felt like magic. (Most of the time, these printers had one job, but they failed, some stupid crops, not the right colors, all types of mess-ups!)

But the truth?
That world wasn’t built for designers like me.
Most clients wanted to pay the printer, not the designer. They didn't have the mindset to invest in good design; they just made a lot of revisions and made me fill every pixel on the canvas.

The budget ranges… let's just say they weren’t even in the same postcode as the effort.

I realised it was a different market altogether. So I moved on.
Now everything’s digitised anyway. Even billboards scroll like Instagram feeds. Print is becoming rare, and strangely, that's what makes those old memories even more nostalgic!

Sometimes, when relatives ask me to “just quickly make a design,” I wish I still had the energy, but after long workdays, the brain’s already running on 2% battery. So I end up dodging a lot of “free design” requests because I know I can’t give them my best.
