I'm a long-time data leader, currently leading ReportingApplications.com, a consulting company focused on building - you guessed it - Reporting Applications.

Prior to starting ReportingApplications.com I was the founder of Delivery Layer - a SaaS product that powered customer facing reporting applications.

Before that I was VP of Data Strategy at Helium 10 where I led all things data (Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Product Development and Analytics). I previously ran product & analytics with P&L responsibility for Nielsen Sports, the global leader in Sports Sponsorship data.
  
Early in my career I ended up with the mix of statistical, business analysis and programming skills that would turn into the ideal background for a data scientist. Since then, I've been leading data teams, building data products and running data businesses.

My philosophy is that data isn't the hero - it's the sidekick. It's only valuable if it improves the lives of your customers, or helps someone make better decisions.

I see myself first as a teacher, then a payments professional, and third as a salesperson. I discovered my love of teaching while tutoring chemistry in college, and that thread has carried through everything I’ve done since. Payments and sales came after my time in the Navy, and they’ve turned out to be the perfect fit. Payments is fast-moving and constantly evolving, which keeps me learning every day. Sales gives me a chance to do what I enjoy most: teaching and coaching. A former VP once told me that teaching was my sales superpower, and I’ve leaned into that ever since.

Originally from Rochester, NY, I joined the Navy in the wake of 9/11 and ended up serving for 12 years (2002-2014) in the U.S. Submarine Force. The best advice I received on leaving the Navy was that Naval officers made great technical salespeople. Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my wife and children. We climb at the local rock club together, swap funny TikTok videos, and some of us follow the Buffalo Bills.
