I am a gastroenterologist, physician leader, clinical administrator, informatics physician, academic, and advisor.

Committed to the greater good, I write here and at Forbes to connect the dots, spark thoughtful conversations, and learn from and connect with others who share a passion for improving healthcare.

Sitting at the intersection of clinical practice, operations, and technology, I enjoy explaining how healthcare works and imagining how it can work better. 

I am fascinated by how artificial intelligence and other digital technologies are reshaping medicine. I am also particularly interested in redesigning specialty care.

I aim to integrate mind and body in both clinical practice and life. 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, music, sports, reading, and swimming, most of all in the ocean.

Professor of Medicine

I care for adults with acute and chronic GI conditions – particularly those with disorders of gut-brain interaction (e.g., IBS) and motility (e.g., gastroparesis) – in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. 

I've served as site-PI for 20+ clinical trials and co-authored national constipation practice guidelines. I write and present on topics related to care delivery.

Simon Constantineau est conseiller en placement au sein du Groupe Constantineau chez RBC Dominion valeurs mobilières.

Il a débuté sa carrière en capital de risque chez VU Venture Partners à San Francisco, avant de se joindre à l’équipe de capital de risque d’Inovia Capital à Montréal, d’abord comme stagiaire en 2021, puis à temps plein en 2022. Il a également acquis une expérience en gestion de patrimoine chez RBC Dominion valeurs mobilières et en gestion d’actifs chez Placements Mackenzie, développant une vision globale des marchés privés et publics.

Diplômé avec mention d’honneur en finance de HEC Montréal, Simon a réussi le niveau I de l’examen du CFA en 2021. Il est président de YCIF Montréal, membre du Club de golf Pinegrove, et engagé auprès de la Fondation Cœur et AVC.

Simon Constantineau is an Investment Advisor within the Constantineau Group at RBC Dominion Securities.

He began his career in venture capital at VU Venture Partners in San Francisco, before joining Inovia Capital’s Venture team in Montreal — first as an intern in 2021, then full-time in 2022. He also gained experience in wealth management at RBC Dominion Securities and in asset management at Mackenzie Investments, giving him a well-rounded view of both public and private markets.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from HEC Montréal, graduating with honours, and passed the CFA Level I exam in 2021. He is President of YCIF Montreal, a member of Pinegrove Golf Club, and involved with the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
