Spoiler alert. It didn’t. It got worse.

I nearly lost my health and my sanity in the process.

Recovering from that chapter took everything.

Techonomy was a candy store of content yesterday with 20-minute quick hitting panels designed to leave you with a swag bag of thoughts and ideas.

My fireside chat with Chief CEO Alison Moore and fellow Chief and accomplished growth, brand, and marketing executive Jo McKinney not only demonstrated the power of our network but left me with more to ponder.

Jo painted a picture of what it means to bring deeply human insights to business and workplaces. 

The ability to apply those insights is a critical business skill and both current AI and the AI-enabled generation are falling short vis-a-vis the analog generations.

And when Alison asked me about the Future of Work (rather than my usual humanoids in the workplace thought experiment) I flipped the question on its head and suggested the audience instead think about the Future of Leisure.

The hospitality industry has a lot to teach the rest of the business world about:
1. what people are craving in human connection, 
2. what they are willing to spend money on, 
3. and how they want to feel.

If all companies focus on those three things they are not only destined to be more successful but they’ll make people more fulfilled.

How your employees are spending their leisure time offers a lot of clues about how they’d like to spend their work time. 🏝️ 💃  🥂
