TL;DR I burned six months in 2025 “grinding” on all the wrong things. 

lmk if you can relate to this. 

It’s the feeling when you know something's off but can't pinpoint it.

We had traction. Our proof of concept crushed. But deals kept dying. I could blame “the market,” sure - but the truth? I knew I was missing something, and I didn’t know what.

So I finally stopped. Ripped apart everything. Our positioning. Our offer. Our pitch. Our lead gen. Our entire strategy etc etc 

Because you can't break down what's broken when you're sprinting in twelve directions at once.

(But this does officially make you a startup “founder” I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise 😂)

I dissected every corner of our business through three filters:

1. "Am I just busy because busy feels productive?"
2. "Does this move us toward what we want to own?"
3. "Can someone actually explain what we do after hearing our pitch?"

Most of us confuse motion with progress (at least I do at times anyways). We stack calls, tweak decks, run experiments. All while avoiding the real juicy bits/ Q’s

The hard part isn't working more. It's working on less. Ruthlessly cutting everything that doesn't compound toward what you're building.

When you're brutally honest with yourself, most of your day disappears. What's left is the stuff that actually moves the needle.
