1) I went from award-winning designer for one of the worlds fastest-selling consumer products in history to director of content at an ASX-listed startup and running marketing at a global Edtech startup.

2) I developed a proprietary playbook and sales system directly responsible for exceeding monthly quotas for direct demo MQLs, and building over 60% of the sales pipeline and 70% of revenue.

3) I built BridgeUs highly popular blog and content engine from zero to 40K engaged email subscribers and over 500 inbound leads per month. 

4) I scaled Webcentrals website and blog from $5M - $20M ARR

In 2014 - I started an internship with LinkedIn in Dublin working specifically on a new business line they were expanding called 'LinkedIn Marketing Solutions' or now more commonly known as 'Linkedin Ads'. Fast forward 6 roles, 9 years and 100s of product releases - I decided it was time to start applying what I learned on the client side and Tuned Social was born, the first LinkedIn Ads agency run by an ex-LinkedIn Ads employee.

While we work with many SaaS brands, the riches are in the niches on LinkedIn and Holland Colours are a great example of that.

Video on LinkedIn today reminds me of mobile ads 8–10 years ago. 

Everyone knew mobile mattered, but very few built mobile-first creative. Still to this day some brands build and optimise creative for desktop, and it genuinely pains me when I see these ads in the feed.

I feel like I'm going through the same moment now with video, most B2B brands aren't even video-focused, let alone video-first. And it's a huge missed opportunity. 

It's a strategic decision that's being treated like a creative choice. 

The current state of affairs looks something like this:
→ Producing 1–2 brand videos per quarter
→ Repurposing webinar snippets
→ Treating video as a format test

But it's just not enough.

The opportunity is to become video-first.

→ Capturing content continuously
→ Building recurring formats (weekly insights, FAQs, commentary)
→ Designing content for feed consumption, not for the website.

Many also get stalled by perceived production barriers; B2B video does not need to be Hollywood production. On the contrary, slightly imperfect, human-led content performs better because it feels authentic.

People know your CFO might not be naturally charismatic (although it helps if they are)
Really, people just want to see credibility. 

All in all, the barriers are lower than ever and getting one up on your competitors may be as easy as switching to thinking video-first. 

Make it core to what you do and you will have so much fuel for your ad engine.

Ambitious startups usually hit a scaling problem with LinkedIn Ads. 

Something works, they try scale it - performance bombs. 

It's generally down to a few reasons: 

→ Lack of audience options
→ Brand awareness limitations
→ Tactics not being properly stress tested

It's a major source of frustration for marketing leaders (AI teams in particular), because the race for brand awareness and market share right now is relentless.

Luckily, I actually really enjoy the scaling process, mainly because we set ourselves and our clients up so that they can scale.  

We have a few recent scaling use-cases with Series A-B companies, two notable scenarios:

Startup A: $10k→$200k p/m in 1 year (hitting 3x Q pipeline goals)
Startup B: €30k→€150k p/m (while improving CAC)

We treat the first 90 days as structured experimentation.
→ We test aggressively.
→ We explore multiple angles.
→ We deliberately try to break what’s working.

And scaling is often a sign that we've done the hard work, and we're coming out the other side. 

We don't make it work for everyone; there are many different reasons this can be the case. 

But our margin of failure is pretty low, and when it clicks - it REALLY clicks.
