“I’ll start a business to be overworked & underpaid,” said no one ever.

9 rules I've used to build a freedom-first solo business:

→ I choose my clients. I don’t need to sell to everyone.
→ I will only sell what I’ve done for myself or for my clients.
→ I don’t know everything — but I can figure anything out.
→ I won’t rely on my 1:1 offer alone.
→ I sell outcomes, not hours.
→ I will streamline my offers so upsells feel natural.
→ I will build income streams that earn even while I sleep.
→ I will create one signature offer, and everything else will connect back to it.
→ I will take proven systems and implement them. The more I complicate things, the harder they become.

Mindset first. 
Strategy second. 
Execution always.

The first offer I sent to a LinkedIn lead was a mess.

(It got accepted, and I ended up creating a full-blown marketing strategy, executing it for a month… for $500.)

The 5th offer wasn’t great either.
The 20th was a little better.
The 200th started converting.

The 1,000th made me realize something:

High conversion doesn’t come from “nailing” your offer on the first try.

It comes from refining your offers inside a framework that works.

Once you have a solid framework, even launching brand-new offers becomes easy.

And when all your offers link back to your core offer, you remove “overworked and underpaid” from your vocabulary for good.

In a nutshell:

You don’t need a perfect offer.

You need one core offer and a proven framework you can return to every time you create a new one.

That’s how you go from random one-off clients to a $10,000+/month business built around you.

A common mistake I see with solopreneurs:

You’re focused on scaling a business even though you’re not in a scaling phase.

Here’s what I mean.

“I want $50,000/month.”
“I want 10,000 newsletter subscribers.”
“I want to automate everything so I make money on autopilot.”

All of these sound smart.

They look strategic.
They feel productive.
They’re easy to brag about.

But most people are chasing these goals when:

→ They don’t have 3 paying clients yet.
→ Their offer hasn’t even been seen by 100 ideal buyers.
→ They haven’t hit $10,000/month and already want $50,000.

So why do we do it?

Because huge goals are emotionally safer than solving our current bottlenecks.

If you say “I want $50,000/month,” you can always tell yourself:

“I’m on the way. It just takes time.”

If you say “I want this offer seen by 10 people,” you’ll know very clearly if you failed.

Audience-building also feels like progress:

You’re posting.
You’re tweaking carousels.
You’re watching analytics.

But here’s the hard truth:

You can have 10,000 followers and still not have a business.

Until strangers pay you, you’re still in the “maybe” phase.

So what should you focus on instead?

Here’s what I recommend before you chase any “scaling” goal:

1. Choose a problem you’ve solved before — for yourself or someone else.
Map out how you did it. Go deep.

2. Find a proven framework to make your core offer.
Not 3 core offers. Not ten custom offers. One clear, outcome-based offer.

3. Get that offer in front of 100 ideal buyers.
100 right people. That’s all you need.

That might mean:

→ DM-ing old contacts
→ Sending emails to your network
→ Asking for intros from people who already trust you
→ Posting simple, direct content that leads to your offer.

Your goal here is not scale.

It’s to get 3–5 clients to say “yes.”

4. Deliver like your life depends on it.
Forget scaling. Focus on getting results.

This is where:

→ You refine your process
→ You find your real strengths
→ You earn the right to charge more

5. When you’ve done it 10 times, then think about systems and scaling.

Once:

→ Your offer converts
→ You’ve helped multiple clients get results
→ You know where your best clients come from

Then you can ask:

“How do I make this smoother, simpler, more scalable?”

Not before.

A friendly reminder:

You’re not behind because you don’t have 1,000,000 people in your audience.

You’re behind if you don’t have 3 people you’ve genuinely helped with a problem they’d happily pay to solve again.

Start there.

When your messaging screams fear, your Ideal Clients don't come.

This is why many solopreneurs struggle to attract business —

They're afraid of making hard decisions so they stay vanilla.

😬 "I'll solve many problems for many different ICPs (because I'm afraid to choose one problem)."
😬 "I won't exclude this type of Client although they're shitty (because I'm afraid to lose options)."
😬 "I won't say what my service is NOT (because I'm afraid that this means fewer leads)."

Usually, the opposite happens.

When you say it out loud:

💪 "I'll state who I am for and for whom my service is."
💪 "I'll state who I am not and for whom my service is not."
💪 "I'll focus on my Ideal Clients and say no to everyone else."
💪 "I'll be straight to the point without beating around the bush."
💪 "I'll find a way to make it work even with the constraints I have."
💪 "I'll find people who'll help me solve what I struggle with and make it work."

You manage to build authority and attract your best clients.

It's the same in life and business:

The more intentional you are to achieve a certain goal,

The higher the chance to achieve it.

The truer to yourself you are,

The more attractive you'll be and the easier it will be to play the game.

That's how you build Authority online and make your best Clients come your way. 

The best part?

You've already got all the pieces of the puzzle. 

They're your Authority Assets and already in your head. 

All you need is to extract them and make them fit together.

You're not stuck in your solo business because you're not working enough.

You're stuck because you're working too much.

Most solopreneurs don’t like hearing that,

And “I don’t have time” feels like a valid excuse,

But it's actually fear in disguise.

Because working too much is rarely about discipline —

It’s about avoiding the real work.

It’s about staying busy so you don’t have to stop and face the truth:

You haven’t assessed your priorities in months. Maybe years.

You haven’t taken a breath to ask yourself:

“Where am I going?"
"Am I even moving in the right direction?”
"Is my business designed to get me there?"

And deep down, you’re afraid that if you stop for even a day, everything will fall apart.

Saying yes to things that drain you.
Doing too many activities at the same time.
Fixing fires that shouldn’t exist in the first place.

You think you're doing the hard work.

But you're actually avoiding it.

Hard work isn’t staying up late to polish another email.

The real hard work is stopping long enough to confront the uncomfortable:

→ What’s noise?
→ What’s actually moving the business forward?
→ What am I doing out of habit and not strategy?
→ What’s the thing I’ve been avoiding because it scares me?

Busy is familiar.
Busy feels safe.
Busy gives you the illusion of progress.

But busy keeps you broke:

Growth doesn’t happen when you speed up.

It happens when you pause.

When you zoom out.
When you see the system instead of the tasks.
When you choose priorities instead of firefighting.

So, here's a simple reminder:

You don’t need more hours.
You need the courage to stop long enough to find it.

Because the solopreneurs who grow are not the ones who do the most.

They’re the ones who know what to do and what to stop doing.

There are two types of value you can provide in your content:

1. Hard value: how-to guides, frameworks, templates, etc.
2. Soft value: insights, personal stories, myth-busting, etc.

Hard value gets you tons of:

→ Likes, reach and engagement
→ “I’ll try your free guide and get back to you”
→ “You’re giving me so much free value. I’ll definitely buy soon”
→ “I’m going to see if this works first, and if it does, I’ll ask about the next steps”

But only a few people follow through.

The other 99.9% never buy.

Everything changes when you switch to soft-value content.

Our 1:1 clients and Club members know this well:

S.H. published his first post and got his first high-ticket lead.

J.F. got 10 leads and 4 yeses from a single post that had only 8 likes.

K.S. closed $3,000 from LinkedIn in her first week with just 300 followers.

All inbound.

A friendly reminder:

Choose your content wisely because it directly affects your revenue.

It’s not the algorithm, your niche, or your audience that’s slowing you down.

It’s the inner parent telling you "you need one more thing.” 

You know the one:

“I need 10,000 followers before I can sell.”
“I need a better website.”
“I need a newsletter first.”
“I need testimonials.”
“I need branding.”
“I need a logo.”
“I need more clarity.”
"I need to do inbound."
"I need to do outbound."
“I need every asset polished.”
“I need to fix that one more thing before I’m ready.”

That voice looks helpful.

It sounds reasonable.

It's trying to keep you safe.

But all it’s really doing?

Keeping you stuck.

Keeps you planning instead of executing.

Overthinking instead of going live.

Consuming instead of creating.

Fixing irrelevant stuff instead of selling.

And here’s the truth most solopreneurs don’t want to hear:

None of those things above are requirements for a $10,000/month business.

Not the fancy website.
Not the follower count.
Not the inbox full of social proof.

Here’s what is required:

A problem you solved for yourself, clients, or employers.

From there, the path is simple:

1. Turn that solution into your Signature Offer.

Clear. Outcome-based. Easy to buy.

2. Add that Signature Offer to your Freedom-First Business Model.

So you stop selling time and start selling transformation.

3. Choose the right funnel for your stage.

Not the funnel your favorite influencer or Coca-Cola uses, but the one you can actually execute.

3. Nail your funnel entry.

Because even the best offer can’t convert if nobody sees it.

5. Once the ball is rolling, automate & add passive revenue.

That’s how you get paid while you sleep, rest, travel or take your kids to the park.

That’s it.

Not 34 assets.
Not a viral post.
Not a perfect brand.
Not 6 months of prep.

Just the right system implemented one step at a time.

A friendly reminder:

If your business feels heavy, confusing, or chaotic right now, it’s probably not because you’re lacking something.

It’s because the criticizing parent in your head is distracting you from the few things that actually matter.

You’re closer than you think.

Content isn’t dead.

It just stopped doing all the heavy lifting for you.

Back in 2023, I’d write a LinkedIn post.

End it with: “DM me ‘WORD’ and I’ll send you the details.”

5,000 views.
10 inbound leads.
3 new clients.

From one post.

It worked beautifully — until it didn’t.

Now?

My posts get seen by 500 people, not 5,000.

And the game changed.

Most people assume this means:

“Content doesn’t work anymore.”

Wrong.

I closed three 4-figure clients in the last three weeks.

All inbound.
All came through content.
All without reach numbers that would impress anyone.

So what changed?

I adapted.

I kept writing.
I added more conversations.
I showed up even when the numbers didn’t “motivate” me.

And here’s the part nobody likes hearing:

The more you post, the easier it becomes to get inbound leads.

Even in 2025.

Just look around:

Everyone who’s reporting $$$

(not likes, not followers)

is still writing.

Even cold outreach people (and their writing has improved a ton).

So yes — content still works.

You just need to stop wishing it worked like 2023,

And start adapting to how it works now.

Last night, I sat in a room with 30 real estate investors.
Millionaires, lenders, wholesalers, and vendors.
The most asked question?

"How are you leveraging social media?"

Briana answered:

"We stopped every single other marketing activity except social media and SMS. There is no better ROI for us than social media. Nothing comes close."

The hosts, Briana and Steve, have done 800+ deals. 

The attendees pressed further. 

They wanted to know how. 

Briana goes into detail:

"I have tried PPC, ads, mailers, cold email, cold calls, SEO, Google ads, local groups, and networking over the past 5 years. Social media has the highest ROI for us."

She continues, 

"If you want to do it, you need a strategy. We have a content calendar. We know what types of videos we have to make each week to bring in leads." 

This social media thing is not going anywhere. 

Remember websites? It's like that, but bigger. 

And everybody knows they need to do it.

PS: Is social media a nice-to-have or a need-to-have for your business?

I have a client who sold over 600 life insurance policies without social media. 4 years later, I can finally show you how they did it.

No selling in their content.
No cold calling or DMing.
No networking.

They started a podcast, but that's not the lesson. I found that these advisors know that money is just a tool. They also know who the right client is, down to how they speak, act, and behave. And they know, on a deeper level, that their clients don't want to talk about money. This creates a massive separation between advisors who get clients from LinkedIn and advisors who don't. 

I have 7 advisors as clients as of today. All 7 decided to stop talking about the market, stocks or investing.

And start talking about YOU. 

YOU = their ideal prospect 

Advising = advice = bad 🔴
Intrigue = curiosity = good 🟢

Advisors look at money as an asset. Regular people look at money as a burden. I call it anti-advising. They pin money as the villain, and give you ideas to make yourself the hero. Same movie, different script.

TLDR: 

Nobody wants an advisor. 
Everybody wants more money. 
Adjust your marketing accordingly.

Every time I get on our monthly call, my business coach asks: “What are you grateful for?”

Last month, it was the ability to slow down.

What I thought was “slowing down” was just stopping the things I truly needed to do to keep progressing.

Fishing, golf and going to the gym are not leisure activities. They are work. The mind works even when you’re not working!

So don’t slow down, just keep doing everything you need to do to keep the engine running, including your “side hobbies” and extracurriculars.

They are curricular.

NOTHING worth doing is a “bonus.”

Everything works together to create you.

Stop hunting for an editor.

Lure them in with content. 
 
🎯 Post videos consistently. 

Good editors will DM you, asking to edit your videos. Most of the people on our team came to me first with, “Hey, I edit. Want a sample?” Sample them, go from there. 
 
🤝 Work your network. 

Ask every podcast host you know: “Who’s producing your show?” Most producers juggle 5–10 podcasts. If they’re good, they can probably take one more.
 
🧪 Give a test, not a thesis. 

Share 3–5 minutes of raw video. 

Ask for:  

• a clean edit  
• a title and thumbnail idea  
• 2 short clips with captions  

Turnaround in 48–72 hours. 

You’ll know fast.
 
✅ Good: Proactive, asks questions, offers a sample.  
❌ Bad: Misses the first deadline, uses AI for captions
 
Bottom line: publish, attract, filter, hire.  

Let your content pull the right people to you.
