The vision was to create 100% sustainable urban residences. We wanted to emphasize sustainability of both environment and lifestyle.

Through advances in modern technology and agriculture, we believed we could have sustained ourselves as humans in even the most crowded of places using automated, indoor, highly efficient methods to produce organic food, clean water, clean energy, and safe materials.

We felt confident in our models: we would partner with property owners seeking significant increases in value by:

1. rehabilitating their existing properties into ones that aligned with our mission, which could be then sold for a massive mark-up

2. gaining entitlements on their land which would dramatically increase the value, then leverage that significant equity to fund the premium costs of sustainable development from the ground up.

Our investors saw the value in creating solutions to global food and clean water shortages without having to compromise on nutritional integrity. 

Our investors also loved finding a way they could profit in a growing real estate market while investing is something they were passionate about.

Ultimately, this business failed because of me: 

I thought I knew enough and I didn’t listen well. I didn’t have enough capital going in and was reliant on external investment. I got distracted by opportunities for short-term gains which pulled me away from the real mission. 

I ruined my dream and almost lost my investors everything. I lost years of my life, all my savings, friends, and nearly lost my family. And I deserved all of that.

While an eventual settlement enabled my investors to walk away with about 82% of the capital they put in, they still saw a negative return and received no financial compensation for their investment of time. 

I wish I could say I learned my lessons immediately, but it took another 5 years before figuring out I was the problem. 

Hoping to someday try this again with an outward mindset and better preparation.

Oversaw and coordinated all marketing and sales of corporate lodging within the DoD, IT, Consulting, Construction, and Oil & Gas Industries. Ensured that large corporate workforces were provided the best accommodations at the most reasonable cost. Ensured owners of investment properties in global oilfields the highest possible yield on their assets.

As VP of Business Development (owning all top-line revenue), increased revenue by 115% Annually (from $11M to $24M) and increased EBITDA from $400k to >$4M.

Directed all sales efforts for Safe Haven Security Services, Inc (an ADT authorized dealership) in the Greater Austin and San Antonio, TX areas. Recruited, hired, and trained staff to successfully outperform peers in overall sales performance. Built regional business from the ground up: finding, leasing, and furnishing the office, overseeing the regional P&L, and expanding market service area.

As Area Manager, every member of the sales team exceeded 120% of quota, with multiple parties achieving top performer in separate quarters.

I’ve sold, I’ve led sales teams, I’ve provided operational support to GTM orgs, and I’ve consulted and trained over a thousand founders and GTM leaders on how to apply industry best practices in their businesses.

I’m passionate about identifying opportunities for improvement and creating tools to simplify those improvements.

Right now, for me personally, the areas I most need to improve are my mental and physical fitness, so that is where I focus my time, energy, and updates.
