Most B2B teams have plans.

But it's not the same ONE PLAN for everyone. 

If you get the marketing manager, sales manager, and the CEO to the same table, you might get three different answers for a few basic questions: 

Who's your ideal customer? 
How do you bring in new customers? 
Why should they buy from you? 

The CEO needs revenue, the marketing manager generates leads, and the sales manager builds "relationships". So you end up with bad leads, relationships with the wrong people, and a frustrated CEO. 

No one's "wrong". 

They're just not rowing in the same direction.

& this is probably one of the best illustrations I discovered from Justin Welsh that tells the story of what I'm doing with my founders

consistency in talking with your potential customers to
- validate your approach in getting your intro talks
- validate your ICP, 
- well define their problem
- validation with paying customers
- grow your product with your paying customers' feedback
- all of these while maintaining your eyes on the ball = constantly talking with new potential customers 
( & develop relationships with potential investors)

every intuition / idea / hypothesis we have, let's test them out with your potential customers / customers

in the beginning, founders find it difficult to contact potential customers
because they get refused/ignored 90+% of the time & stuff like that

but after we work a little bit on 
- your story
- your business proposal for your customers
- the Ideal Customer Profile, intro message, sales process, numbers 
- and mainly on your mindset, 
the things will be much easier for both of us

and we can focus on getting traction, paying early adopters with whom we will built the product for the next phases

why is mindset so important?

easy to say all of these, but it will take us a few dozen hours of work over 2-6 months, depending on your speed

and to be honest ... 
not in all of the cases have I had success in changing the mindset of my founders.

in a few cases, it was difficult for me to help them overcome their barriers in talking with their customers or was just the lack of chemistry in approach between us

& for that, we had to find a different solution 
or to stop our collaboration, and that's ok, too

I see it very difficult for a startup to exist if there is nobody in the co-founding team to do the work of talking with customers and promoting what you do ( constantly, daily & weekly )

so even if it is painful, I would encourage all of the founders I'm working with or are reading this to find the right energy & talk with their potential customers
