☛  Elevated cash flow by PGK 3M by introducing a credit analysis function, decreasing outstanding receivables from 60 to 45 days and reducing risk from marginal customers.

☛  Improved current ratio to 2.50 through efficient controls.

HLB NIUGINI CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS

Offered solutions and business insights to a wide range of clients with many landowners subcontracted to Oil Search Limited.

Multitasking, reporting, team supervision and management, client relationships, representation of clients in board meetings and bank loan meetings, contract negotiations, accounting and technical skills, communication strengths, the capacity to deal with regulatory agencies and external audit bodies (Deloitte, PwC and KPMG).

Regular changes to leadership, and landowners unable to fight for legitimate benefits. Played a pivotal role to ensure landowner interests were safe-guarded and protected and in some cases, managed finances through clear authority granted in writing.

☛  Exposed a service client’s contractual payment error with Oil Search, that was later settled out of court in the client’s favour for a considerable sum. 

☛  Produced a future cash flow forecast that secured funds for an engineering client to purchase plant and equipment. The financial institution, initially unwilling to lend, later granted a PGK 500,000 finance loan based on the forecasts. 

☛  Acted in the role of Financial Controller for 15+ business clients, supervising a team of nine national staff. Provided training in MYOB and Excel and client-specific industry functions. Through mentorship and training, supported by rewards and incentives, all staff were retrained and competent in handling the rigours of the role.
