Everytime i read about a big opportunity in my clients messages, we ask a few questions first to: 

(1) qualify the lead before wasting everyones time. I usually ask at what stage they’re in, which always tells me how much capital they’re then willing to invest with us next.

(2) build tension. asking questions before sending them your calendly link builds curiosity instead of killing it with “sure send me an email”.

The people who understand this close $200k - $500k projects directly out of messages. 

Sometimes even without going on calls.

She Stopped Playing by Someone Else's Rules

I was working with someone this week who couldn't decide on his primary LinkedIn focus.

His expertise spans corporate partnerships, nonprofit sales coaching, and CSR advising... all of it super valuable, all of it real expertise.

And like so many brilliant people I work with, the breadth of what he can do was making it harder to position himself clearly.

So I told him this:

Your profile can absolutely serve multiple revenue streams eventually, but it needs one primary lens. Not because you can only do one thing, but because your dream client needs to land on your profile and immediately think: 

"This is for me."

When you try to speak equally to two different audiences with two different pain points, you end up resonating with neither.

This is the power of strategic positioning, and it puts the power back in your hands.

Instead of casting a wide net and hoping you catch enough projects to stay busy, you get to decide:

→ Who energizes you to work with?
→ Who has the most sustainable budget?
→ Who already sees the value in what you do?

When you take time to position yourself well, you stop being at the mercy of whoever happens to find you. You get to choose.

Here's a quick litmus test I use:

If your ideal client landed on your profile today, who do you most want thinking, "We need to hire this person"?

This is the ONE person you should be writing for and your primary lens when deciding what to post.

Everything else becomes part of your ecosystem, not your headline promise.

Clarity isn't about doing less. It's about being findable by the right people first.

Once they trust you, they'll discover everything else you offer.

Give the litmus test a try. Does the answer surprise you? Does it give you permission to move forward with something new?
