I’ve spent the better part of the last 2 decades taking an unusual but rewarding path - one that’s taught me how to adapt, build, and keep moving forward. I’ve noticed more companies quietly hiring for one skill that didn’t used to sound business-critical: storytelling.

Not storytelling as brand campaigns or taglines. Storytelling as the ability to explain what’s happening, why it matters, and how different pieces connect. LinkedIn job data shows roles mentioning “storytelling” as a core skill have grown steadily across marketing, product, and leadership functions over the last few years.

This keeps surfacing because many teams struggle with clarity as they scale. The product works. The market exists. Metrics look fine. But when someone outside the team asks what the company actually does and why it matters now, the explanation starts to wobble.

Buyers don’t wait around for clarity to improve. Research consistently shows B2B buyers complete roughly 60–70% of their decision process before speaking to sales. If the story isn’t clear by then, confusion shows up as stalled deals, internal hesitation, or long decision cycles.

That’s why this skill is spreading beyond marketing. Product teams use it to explain trade-offs. Sales teams rely on it to frame urgency. Leadership needs it to keep teams aligned around direction, not just dashboards.

Good storytelling here is practical. It helps someone explain the problem clearly in a meeting. It reduces back-and-forth. It saves time.

When growth makes things harder to explain, it’s rarely a tooling problem. It’s usually a story problem.

Today, in 2026, I am the founder of Resollm.ai; An AI agent SaaS platform which will replace SEO agencies to drive revenue growth from Inbound search for companies.

Never really thought how far this'd come. Or that it'll come to this. It shows that so much can happen in a decade. We got LLMs, LLMs surged and shifted search behavior. Two different times, a new market. And a head full of dreams to do something I absolutely love. 

Wiser, stronger, and even a mother! How much has my outlook and perspective grown. My biggest takeaway? 

Take action. Don't try. Do it. 
Refine, redo, redefine. 

2036? Honestly, my target is to retire somewhere in the hills. For now, riding the non-linear line of growth.

Not everything needs to be said.

And not everyone needs to know.

There’s a difference between honesty and exposure. Truth is powerful but sharing it at the wrong time, with the wrong audience, and without control has been the cause of undoing of many people.

Plans fail when they’re announced before they’re executed. The moment intent is spoken, it becomes open to interpretation, resistance, and interference. Let your results speak for themselves and not your words.

The same applies to weaknesses, fears, and change. Information is leverage. Once someone understands where you hesitate, what you fear, or what you’re about to do next, they no longer need to guess. Silence preserves optionality.

Words function like arrows. Once released, they can’t be recalled or redirected. Until then, they remain fully under your control.

So stop explaining yourself (and your plans) prematurely.

What’s something you no longer feel compelled to explain?

AI trends look fun.

Cartoon filters. Celebrity selfies. Younger versions of you.

But every upload gives away something most people ignore: your biometric data. Your face is your identity.

Once it’s out there, it can be stored, trained on, sold, leaked, or misused in ways you never signed up for. I’m not saying don’t use AI. I’m saying use it with awareness.

Your face is personal data. Protect it like you protect your money.

Google quietly split search into two different intelligence systems.

AI Overviews and AI Mode don’t just look different. They think differently.

An analysis of 730,000 response pairs shows this clearly:
↳ They cite different sources 87% of the time
↳ Only 13.7% of citations overlap
↳ AI Mode answers are 4× longer
↳ Yet both agree on the core facts 9 out of 10 times

Same conclusions. Different paths. Even more interesting? There’s 86% semantic similarity, yet only 16% of unique words overlap. Google’s AI systems agree on what matters, but not on how they explain it or who they cite. Visibility is about being semantically indispensable. 

What matters now:
↳ Tracking AI Overviews and AI Mode separately
↳ Building semantic authority, not keyword coverage
↳ Owning topics deeply enough to be useful across multiple reasoning systems

The question is no longer “Do you rank?” It’s “Does the system need you to answer the question?”

Google AIO VS Google AI Mode

B2B buyers spend most of their time trying to figure out which problems are worth fixing, not which products to buy.

That part of the process is messy. People read a mix of reviews, Slack threads, Reddit comments, analyst notes, and whatever their peers already trust. Most of the time they already know how to solve the problem; they’re deciding if it deserves attention this quarter.

This is where marketing carries weight. When you consistently show the buyer what the problem costs them, how it shows up in their day, and why it keeps resurfacing, you help them move it higher on their internal list.

This requires clarity more than it requires big claims.

Small, specific examples of the friction they already feel. Stories that sound familiar. Proof that other teams solved the same issue and saw a clear lift.

The brands that stay top of mind are the ones that give buyers language they can take into their next meeting: “Here’s the issue, here’s why it matters now, and here’s why we should consider fixing it.”

If your messaging made one buyer conversation easier this week, it’s already doing its job.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about “chunking” content to make it more LLM-friendly. Google’s guidance adds an important nuance that’s easy to miss.

The takeaway isn’t “don’t structure your content.” It’s “don’t restructure it purely to satisfy an assumed AI pattern.” Breaking a coherent idea into artificial micro-sections just to look extractable doesn’t improve usefulness, and it’s unlikely to hold up over time.

That said, reader-first chunking still works and it works well. Clear headings, short logical sections, summaries where they help, and strong internal navigation make content easier to understand and easier to scan. Those choices serve real user intent, not a guessed retrieval behavior.

The line is crossed when formatting becomes mechanical. Content loses coherence if you’re stripping nuance to manufacture snippets, duplicating pages for “humans vs AI,” or forcing every answer into tiny fragments (even if it looks optimised).

↳ A better approach is situational.
↳ If a topic needs depth, keep it intact and structured.
↳ If a query needs a fast answer, lead with it and then expand.
↳ Let the shape of the content follow the question being asked.

AI changes how content is surfaced, not why it exists. Pages that answer fully, stay readable, and respect intent tend to age better than pages designed around a single retrieval assumption.
