Some PMMs get promoted without delivering impact.
Others deliver without getting promoted.

Who rises fastest in PMM often has very little connection to who’s doing the best work.

You can…

Deliver on time (or early).
Nail the largest launches.
Talk about what you accomplished.

But you still don’t get noticed.

Here’s why 👇🏻

You haven’t mastered the art of strategic visibility.

Strategic visibility is what will earn you trust, influence, and ultimately, a seat at the table.

What most PMMs don’t realize is that visibility isn’t about volume, it’s about framing.

Two PMMs can do the exact same work, but the one who gets noticed is the one who knows how to position it.

→ Good PMMs talk about what they did.
→ Better PMMs talk about what they solved.
→ The best PMMs talk about what they made possible.

They draw a straight line from their work to business outcomes, and they build simple, predictable rhythms for sharing results.

You can think about it like this:

→ TASK LEVEL

The PMMs who stay overlooked tend to communicate at the task level:

“We launched X.” “We shipped Y.”

It’s accurate, but it’s not particularly meaningful.

→ PROBLEM LEVEL

The PMMs who start getting traction shift to the problem level:

“Here’s what we unblocked.”
“Here’s what improved because of this work.”

People start to see the connection between PMM and progress.

→ POSSIBILITY LEVEL

The PMMs who become indispensable operate at the possibility level:

“Here’s what this made possible for customers.”
“Here’s how this moved the business forward.”

Now they’re not seen as executors, they’re seen as strategic drivers.

Language shapes perception.

2️⃣ Share results on a repeatable cadence (even the small ones).

My mother in law in the icu right now.

My husband flew home immediately. 

She’s an impressive woman. I’ll tell you about her some other time. 

It doesn’t look good. I should be there for her. For him. For me. 

I wanted to take the girls next week as soon as fall break starts. 

We don’t have any family in the US so there’s no one to take them for days. Plus somehow, in spite of last summer, they still really like it there. 


But I can’t, because I don’t have a valid passport. 


I’ve been procrastinating on the boring adulting stuff.


Take my word for it, don’t do that. 


I was too busy to get it done. Too busy in the name of the hustle. The mental load of busy life with two kids. Even of emotional fatigue.

I found every reason not to do it for 3 months. You think it’s not urgent, until one day it is.

Because every time I tried, I'd get halfway through and realize the real problem wasn't the deck. It was lack of conviction in the story.

How are you being grateful when shit happens?


November had many downs but I’ve been feeling extremely thankful.


I accidentally deleted all my phone contacts from the last 9 years.

I did not hit ambitious revenue targets that I set for myself.

Our guest bathroom got clogged yesterday (I don’t know how our crumbling public school bathrooms survive my girls guts daily).

And worst of all, we suffered a shocking, heartbreaking loss in our family 💔

(The one that put this emoji in my recents tab).


But I don’t feel doomed. 
Or even alone.

I feel immense gratitude.


For support I received both from friends and complete strangers, when I posted here about feeling helpless.

That although my mother in law passed shortly after being hospitalized, as the doctors said she would, we all got to say goodbye. While unconscious, she heard us saying “I love you” one last time. 

That I showed myself compassion during the two weeks of solo parenting and a busy work season, in spite of not getting to everything as quickly as I intended. 

That I managed to keep my workout schedule, with a lot of planning ahead and having an 11 yo who can stay with her sister for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

For people who show up in general. My clients, coaches, besties, and that group of exit fivers who came out for a walk after two days of rain and got one of the most beautiful afternoons Austin has seen in a while (And didn’t even complain when someone missed a turn and the quick walk got us all to hit our 10k).

That my girls say “I love you” and come for a hug randomly. Gifts like this one from yesterday (pretty sure it’s a picture of me and my dark circles). And that they pretend they loved the lunch I made them (usually it’s dad’s job) even when I taste the rice later I realize it’s either too mushy or very al-dente (I make it the same every time. I don’t get it). 

That I got to take my oldest to her first concert thanks to a friend stepping up to take my 6yo on a school night, and that Billie Eillish gave us an unforgettable night. 

That my husband has landed an hour ago, and we’re headed soon to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends.

That I feel aligned with my value and how I bring it to my clients.

That friends call me when they need PMM help. There is something special when a friend put their trust in you. And similarly, when people I like and respect want to partner with me. (Yall thought the fletch one was good, wait till you hear about the other one I’ve got on the back burner).

That 2026 is shaping up to be busy and I can’t wait.

Some of y’all have been cranking here about AI, brand, taste and workplace equity since 7am. Meanwhile I was struggling to remember my computer password.


We are not the same.

Show me how a company launches and I'll show you how aligned the teams are.

Launches don't create chaos.

They mirror it.

You can have all the weekly X-Team meetings and slack channels in the world and still launch in total dysfunction.

That's alignment theater.

You know her - 
-Blurry handovers 
-Inconsistent terminology 
-Unclear expectations
-Exec decisions that ignore everything they break

But when it falls apart?

"Marketing dropped the ball."

I call BS.

Marketing inherited a mess and got blamed for exposing it.

The companies that launch smoothly don't have more meetings. 

They stopped performing alignment and started doing it.

I’m sitting on a curb in a parking lot wearing what looks like pajamas.

(My shibori joggers, zip-up and giant clogs make sense for Saturday errands)

It’s day 10 of solo parenting (feels like 37) and I need a few minutes of quiet before I head back home to maintain sanity. Our bedroom patio is my usual go-to, but when the kids are home they pop in there every three minutes. So empty parking lot it is. 

A woman walks by. She’s on her phone, doesn’t notice me.

She comes back from the same direction a few minutes later. I start wondering if I’m in Groundhog Day because I have no memory of her walking back.

Now I’m paying attention and realize she’s circling around the parking lot. And, she finally realizes I’m there. My relief I haven’t lost it turns into the realization that sitting here on a curb with my water bottle, dressed like this, I probably look like the kind of weirdo you call security on.

But she’d think I look cute if she saw me at the Thai place inside that shopping center. 

Same outfit, different context.

Context matters 100% of the time.
In real life. In marketing. In pretty much everything that involves other humans trying to make sense of what they’re looking at.


Because good marketing is just understanding human psychology.
And human psychology is entirely contextual.

Her rounds are getting shorter, I better get going. Got us movie tickets while I was chilling here instead of the Wicked 2 tickets we pushed to next weekend when dad gets home.

And before that lady really calls security.
