Movement Senegalou Nieup

The organization known as Movement Senegalou Nieup is one dedicated to the betterment of Senegal's most vulnerable population key to its future, all on the same token. To that end, our main areas of focus is fighting hunger among school aged children therefore fostering an environment of learning and retention, and providing much needed medical supplies to a struggling and overwhelmed healthcare delivery system. 
In 2020 Senegal was confronted with 2 major existential issues, economical on one hand and healthcare related on the other exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis. As people of Senegalese descent, or Senegalese nationals based abroad, we decided to come to the rescue by creating the Movement Senegalou Nieup.

Fonde à l’école (Fonde at school):
Fondé, a hearty porridge made of millet, an adaptable grain packed with protein, fiber, key vitamins, and minerals, appropriate for most diet types has been a hallmark of Senegalou Nieup since its inception in 2020. Senegalou Nieup has served over a 1,000,000 meals and counting to school aged children of various socio-economic backgrounds in its effort to fight hunger, foster a learning environment, and promote local production and awareness of this particular superfood, millet.

The organization has also partnered with a local NJ non-profit organization, MANO-A-MANO, which has helped greatly in securing medical equipment from local NJ hospitals to the benefit of Senegal’s needy. To date, Senegalou Nieup has donated 20 40-foot containers filled with medical equipment and two ambulances (to Touba Cikanam). It has also donated toys and clothes collected from the community for the benefit of a local orphanage in Senegal. 
On September 23, 2023, Senegalou Nieup through its founder and President, was awarded the most coveted President's Golden Award in great part, due to its commitment to significantly impacting education and access to  healthcare for various communities in Senegal.
