Writing is my dream and I have been living it for the last ten years.

My first piece of writing was a blog I published on a ‘flower’.

I never had the chance to look back at it because of how cringe it was.

But today, I write for some of the most powerful people who run big companies that my mind can only fathom.

So maybe I do have to thank that ‘flower’ blog after all.

Once I realised the power writing has on personal and professional life (I mean I am making money off of pushing a few buttons on my keyboard), I realised how powerful this can be for others as well.

So I started writing for others and never looked back.

Today, I write for Founders and CEOs and help tell their story online.

I've written 4 books as a ghostwriter with some of the most talented founders and leaders I've met. 

I’ve helped my clients go on podcasts as guests, got them more business, and a better network of high-net individuals to name a few.

If you are a founder or CXO and someone tells you they have cracked the LinkedIn algorithm, please be a little suspicious.

One of our clients recently had two text-only posts.

One got 385 likes and around 40,000 impressions. The other got 335 likes and around 20,000 impressions.

Only 50 likes apart. And yet, a 20,000-impression gap.

That is exactly why I do not take LinkedIn “formulas” too seriously.

A post does not spread only because people liked it.

It spreads when it reaches the right people.

When the right people comment, when it feels relevant to your own community, when people save it, share it, or send it to someone quietly.

So let's not judge a post only by visible numbers.

So when someone says image posts work better, or carousels work better, or a particular template is viral, I would take that advice very lightly.

Because both of these were text-only posts and core related to subject matter expertise.

The question you should ask: Did the post actually speak to the people you wanted to reach?

That usually matters more than any algorithm theory.

And yes, I still back-text posts. The LinkedIn algorithm has commitment issues anyway.

Sure!

A well-known founder from India’s stock market circles once told us that he did not think we could write for him.

Fair enough.

We took a bet. We said, “Let us write one piece for you. You give the topic. If you do not like it, we will step back.”

He said, “Okay. Show me what you’ve got.” That conversation happened in May 2025.

It is March 2026 now, and we are close to completing a year of working together.

I still think about that often, because it reminded me of something I tell every founder and CXO very openly: I am not the expert in your field.

You are.

My work begins somewhere else. My work is to understand how you think. To study your space seriously. To find the right facts, shape the argument properly, and then write in a way that feels like you said it, not me.

That trust was never a small thing to me.

Writing for someone was never about sounding smart after reading a few articles in their industry.

It was always about listening properly. Paying attention. Doing the work well enough to carry someone else’s voice with care.

Right now, I work across five different industries. And in many of them, there was a first time.

A first project. A first learning curve. A first founder deciding whether to trust us without seeing a long list of category-specific samples.

I have always been grateful for that.

Because the people who gave us a chance were not only looking at whether we had worked in their exact industry before.

They were looking at something deeper.

Can this person listen well? Can this person understand the thinking? Can this person do the research properly? Can this person write in a way that can hold the weight of my name?

I think that is where good writing in niche industries really begins.

So this post is really a thank you.

To the founders and CXOs who gave us a chance before we had “proof” in their category.

To the ones who looked at the seriousness of our craft before the case studies.
To the ones who let the work speak first.

Some of our best client relationships began with doubt. They stayed because the work held up.

And honestly, that is still one of my favourite ways to earn trust. Sometimes it begins with one simple line: “Alright. Show me.”

While I understand skill learning in the age of Ai this seemed like a good reminder.

'Thrilled' is old. It is now crying in public with bullet points.

The most difficult question as a founder of a ghostwriting agency I get on client calls is: “Can I see what you have written?”

And I always have to answer with a polite no.

That answer has never been easy.

When you are building any kind of service business, people want proof. They want samples, names, and visible work. Something they can hold and assess quickly.

I understand that.

But ghostwriting asks for a different kind of boundary.

A founder trusts you with their thoughts, their voice, their reputation, and often the parts of their thinking that are still taking shape. Once that trust is given, I do not believe it should be passed around to make the next sale easier.

So a lot of this work stays invisible.

I cannot always point at a post and say, we did that. I cannot always mention the client. I cannot always explain what sat behind the final version.

That is the nature of the work. And over time, I have come to respect that more deeply.

Some of the writing I am proudest of carries someone else’s name completely. Quietly. Fully. As it should.

It does make the business harder in certain moments. But there are a few lines that matter more than convenience. This has always been one of them.

The people who understand ghostwriting properly usually understand this too.
They are not only judging the visible output.

They are paying attention to how you listen, how you think, how carefully you handle someone else’s voice, and whether you know how to treat trust with discipline.

Some of our best relationships have started right after that polite no and maybe that is the strange beauty of this business.

A lot of the work you do well cannot be claimed loudly.Still, the right people know.

How to stop being the most interesting person in the room and the most forgettable one on LinkedIn?

I came across a LinkedIn post from a mental health startup founder today. Although the post had decent engagement and ticked all the LinkedIn-formatting boxes,

Everything in the post could have been written by anyone.

And this is a Forbes 30 Under 30 founder. Someone who built a company from scratch because the system was broken. Someone with stories, opinions, and a point of view that could genuinely stop a scroll.

But none of that was in the post.

And that's not the founder's fault. It's the fault of the PROCESS being used to create content.

- it's probably a bad ghostwriting job
- or the founder decided to ChatGPT it and spit out the first draft

Such generic posts are costing you SOOOO much:

Investors who scroll past because nothing made them stop, or the customers who don't feel the conviction behind the product. A potential employee who chose someone else because that someone else sounded like they meant it. 

And WORST OF ALL - your reputation took a serious hit because everyone knows what AI-slop (internet's fav word of 2026) looks like.

You don't get those first impressions back.

There's some sort of cruel irony here because I am sure the founder has the opinions, stories, he could talk about the rage that built the company.

It just never made it into the brief. So it never made it into the post.

You cannot build a credible brand without credibility.

But clarity doesn’t come from thinking.

It comes from seeing if someone will actually pay.

You don’t need all that to launch a product.

You don’t need:
 - a perfect product
  - a full website
  - inventory
  - ads

to make your first sale.

You need one thing:
proof that someone will pay.

This is going to sound blunt, but it helps:

Most people who’ll judge your product launch… aren’t your customers.

They’re spectators.

Your customers are busy.

They just want something that works.

Because the cost of staying invisible is you never get data.

And without data, your “multiple ideas” problem never ends.

This is what I'd do:

Do a “quiet launch” to 30 right-fit people.
No big announcement.
No dramatic build-up.

Just a simple page and a clear message:

“I’m testing this this week. Want it?”

That’s it.

Business is not a performance.

It’s a series of small tests that add up.

I was at a 5-year-old’s birthday party this weekend.

The family hosting it was Iranian. Lovely people. Kids everywhere, cake, balloons, the usual joyful chaos that comes with a room full of five-year-olds.

At some point a few of the mothers and I started talking, and as often happens, the conversation slowly drifted away from the children.

It became about something else.

Security.

Not the alarm-system kind.

The quieter kind that comes from knowing you could create income if life suddenly changed.

Most of them have strong careers. But one of them asked me a question that stayed with me.

“If I wanted to start something small of my own… where would I even begin?”

My answer surprised her because it sounded almost too simple.

Start with one person, one problem, and one solution.

Most people think the first step is a website, a logo, or an Instagram page.

But the real beginning is much quieter than that.

You talk to people.
You test the idea.
You see if a stranger would actually buy it.

Because if nobody buys, it’s far better to learn that early than six months later after building something nobody wants.

Only after someone buys do questions like branding or where to sell really matter.

It’s funny where conversations about work and the future show up.

Sometimes it’s not in boardrooms or strategy meetings, but standing beside a birthday cake while the kids run past with balloons.

I met a close friend for coffee this week.

She has spent more than a decade at a large company. Smart, thoughtful, the sort of person people rely on when something complicated needs sorting out.

Recently she has been thinking about leaving and starting something of her own.

But the conversation kept circling the same question.

“How do people even get their first customers?”

What struck me was that the problem wasn’t experience. She has plenty of that. Years of solving real problems inside organisations.

The challenge was something else.

After a long time in corporate roles, you get used to being part of the solution rather than the person putting something into the world and asking people to buy it.

So when the idea of starting a business appears, everything suddenly feels bigger than it should.

Choosing the right product.
Explaining what it does.
Asking strangers to pay for it.

That last step is where most people freeze.

Because the moment you try to sell, the market answers honestly.

People either buy.

Or they don’t.

And that possibility is what keeps many talented people stuck thinking instead of launching. It’s how ideas sit in notebooks and Google Docs for months or even years.

I received an invitation this week to attend a retail event in Amsterdam.

The kind that proudly says “invite only.”

It focuses on supply chains and logistics.

When the email came in, I laughed a little.

For years I used to see events like this and wonder who they were actually for. You know the ones: big stages, industry panels, people discussing global logistics and retail infrastructure.

And I remember thinking:

Who are these people?

Surely those rooms are for big companies.

Not small founders.
Not people figuring things out one product at a time.

But apparently I’m now one of the people getting invited.

Which is slightly surreal.

Because I never set out to solve “big industry problems.” I just kept solving the next small problem in front of me.

First the product.
Then packaging.
Then manufacturing.
Then shipping.
Then inventory.

And before long you realise those conversations about supply chains and logistics are simply the next layer of the same challenge every founder faces.

Serving customers well.

What struck me is how many founders underestimate the problems they’re capable of solving.

They think they’re too small.

So they stay stuck planning instead of testing.

Which is how people spend months building products that never get a single sale.

Funny how the rooms you once wondered about eventually become the rooms you walk into.

A founder said something interesting to me this week.

“I think I need more time before launching.”

So I asked her one question.

“How many people have you tried selling to?”

She paused for a moment.

“None yet.”

This happens more often than people admit.

Many founders spend months planning. Researching. Designing. Perfecting the idea.

But the one thing that would answer most of their questions never actually happens.

Trying to sell.

Because the moment you try to sell, the market gives you a clear answer. People either buy.

Or they don’t.

Both responses are useful.

But until that moment happens, everything else is speculation.

That’s why so many good ideas stay stuck in notebooks, Google Docs, or half-finished Shopify stores. Not because the founders lack ambition, but because they’re afraid of finding out whether anyone will actually pay.

Selling early removes a surprising amount of uncertainty.

Sometimes the fastest way forward is simply asking the market the question.

I spoke to three founders this week.

Different products. Different industries. But the same pattern appeared in every conversation.

When I asked who their product was for, the answers sounded like this:

“People who care about wellness.”
“Busy professionals.”
“Anyone interested in sustainability.”

All reasonable answers.

But also incredibly broad.

And when the customer is that broad, everything else becomes harder.

Marketing feels confusing.
Pricing feels uncertain.
Product decisions start to feel like guesswork.

Because the early stage of a business isn’t about scale.

It’s about signal.

You’re simply looking for proof that a small group of people care enough about the problem to actually buy the solution.

Most businesses become clearer the moment the customer becomes narrower.

If you’re drowning in ideas, it’s usually because you’re starting in the wrong place.

You’re starting with: “what product could I make?”

Start with: what problem is someone already trying to solve?

Because the cost of staying in idea chaos is you never build momentum. 

You just collect possibilities.

Pick one moment like:

“Sunday night dread”
“first day of half-term”
“post-gym shower”
“3pm energy crash”
“packing lunches”
“new baby haze”
“moving house”

Then ask: what do they already buy in that moment?

What’s annoying about the current options?

What would they happily switch to?

That’s how you pick ideas that sell.
