Nobody sounds like AI anymore.
Now we all sound like assholes instead.

Because apparently the new LinkedIn sport is “spot the  AI copy”:

“That’s an em dash. AI.”
“That’s a listicle. AI.”
“That sentence flowed too well. AI.”

Bro…

Sometimes a good writer is just a good writer.

You’re not morally superior because you didn’t use ChatGPT.

It doesn’t make you Stephen King.
It doesn’t even make you Budget King.

Here’s what actually matters in writing:

Make people feel something.
Make them think something.
Make them do something.

(Yeah I just used the rule of three, suck it.)

Good writing isn’t “human” or “AI.”

Good writing is whatever lands.

Judge the post by the impact.

Not by whether it includes an em dash.

OK?

Posting on LinkedIn is already hard as it is. 

So what if Tom used a little tool? 

Don't pick on Tom. 

Anyway…

I supply words to the rich and busy. Part Owner of the “MEME team” and responsible for bringing fun back to LinkedIn, one meme at a time.

"I love you but..."
(This is sentence #1)

"I love you but I'm married"
(This is sentence #2)

Whenever i get hit on in the DMs I use sentence #2 as my reply.

It instantly ends the conversation.

Now imagine if I replied with the first sentence instead...

The person on the other end would start thinking:

He loves me but maybe he's gay
He loves me but maybe he's not gay
He loves me but maybe he's unsure
He loves me but may he's into rabbits more...

Basically sentence #1 will give them 500 times more incentive to try and FIND more information.

Sentence 2 will simply end the conversation...

The same applies to your hooks On LinkedIn.

Don't write a hook that ends the conversation.

Write a hook that wants them to read MORE.

Rookie Storytelling on LinkedIn: 

1. My partner cheated and I learnt about the attention economy
2. I used to be broke now I'm rich. (Buy my course to learn how)
3. I burned dinner and understood the value of multitasking.
4. I got lost hiking and discovered my career path.
5. My dog died and taught me writing. 

These stories might get you reactions. 
But they won't get you sales. 

Instead,

Expert Storytelling on LinkedIn: 

1. Your origin story (whotf are you and why are you here?) 
2. Your transformation story (How did you become good?) 
3. Your reflective story (What did you learn?) 
4. Your purpose story (Why are you doing this?) 
5. Your client story (How did you help someone else?) 

You can tell these using Ash's 6P framework. 

Protagonist: Who is this story about?
Present: Where does this story start? 
Problem: What was the challenge they faced?
Pit: What was the lowest point for them?
Progress: How did they get out of the pit?
Power: How did they regain their power? 

(Save this for whenever you decide to actually do it)

Whether you are looking for a job or looking for a client. 

These 5 stories will help you establish authority.

I built my business website in 3 days using AI,

This 26 y.o. founder was CELEBRATED as a Forbes 30U30.
Now she faces up to 52 years in federal PRISON — on paper.

Meet Gökçe Güven, founder of Kalder.

Kalder’s promise sounded like the fintech dream:
- Turn loyalty into a revenue engine
- Make everyday brands feel like airlines & Amex

The story was clean.
The pitch was sharp.
The momentum looked… inevitable.

And then…

Federal prosecutors in New York charged Güven with:
 ~ aggravated identity theft
 ~ securities fraud
 ~ wire fraud
 ~ visa fraud

(These are allegations, not a conviction.)

Allegedly, there were two versions of reality:
 – A pitch deck claiming $1.2M ARR
 – Claims about brands using the product
 – And two sets of books — one internal, one investor-facing

In startup land, we love big claims.
In real life, big claims come with one question:
“Can you prove it?” 😅

 An “extraordinary ability” visa is part of the case.
It’s basically the government saying, 
“Show me the receipts.” 😅

Lessons founders should steal (not the wrong kind 😅)
- If your numbers can’t survive a basic check, 
"fake it till you make it” turns into “explain it to a judge.”

- Your pitch deck can be a fairytale.
Just don’t forget to build the castle.

- Forbes 30 Under 30 is a headline—luckily,
it’s not a background check. 😅 
So build proof, not just press.

A personal brand built on vibes is a brand built on borrowed time.

This is why I teach personal branding as clarity + proof, not just polish.
Because the goal isn’t to LOOK impressive.

It’s to be TRUSTED when people start asking hard questions.

This woman from Belgium didn’t have a designer title.
At 26, she invented the wrap dress, 
making more than 25,000 dresses a week.

Creator of the wrap style. 
Diane von Fürstenberg -> DVF.


Her mother survived the concentration camps.
And when Diane was scared, 
her mother taught her one rule:

“Fear is not an option.” 

She arrived as an outsider,
learning the codes of new rooms.

DVF’s life took a turn that most people don’t expect.
Her marriage began to break. 
And instead of shrinking, she built.

In 1974, she introduced a wrap dress for $80. 
Within the first year, she was producing 25,000 a week. 

By 1976, she had sold one million.
Landed the cover of Newsweek. 
But it didn’t stay a fairytale.

By the early 1990s, her label had sunk.
Then she pulled off a major comeback, 
relaunching in 1997. 

And the most “DVF” part of all?
She’s been blunt about what she really sells:

“I really sell confidence.” 

That’s luxury to me.
Not a logo. A transformation.

3 lessons from DVF (for women building in a new country):
 → Don’t just build a product. Build a feeling.
 → Your comeback can become your brand.
 → Elegance is a standard—kept consistently.

This Nigerian-American immigrant saw something that broke her.
An emergency. No blood. A life lost.
She built an “Amazon for blood.”

It started with one childbirth that shook her for days.


She’s Temie Giwa-Tubosun.

Her parents moved to the U.S. when she was 10.

She joined them in Minnesota at 15.

During her internship, she witnessed something that shook her life.

A pregnant woman in a dangerous labor.
The mother survived surgery.
The baby didn’t.

Temie later shared that she locked herself in a hotel room for days afterward.

Because she couldn’t process what she’d just seen.

And then something clicked:

In emergencies, hospitals don’t just need doctors.

They need blood—fast.

Not tomorrow.
Not “we’ll figure it out.”
Now.

So she went back to the question most people avoid because it’s messy:

Why is it still so hard to deliver life-saving blood to the right hospital at the right time?

First, she built a nonprofit to mobilize blood donation and awareness.

Then she built LifeBank—turning blood delivery into logistics.

No hype.
No “innovation theater.”

Just the hard work of building a system that moves on urgency:
	•	bikes
	•	boats
	•	tricycles
	•	drones
	•	whatever it takes

And she did it while facing what many founders quietly carry:
• Gender bias
• Funding pressure
• The brutal reality of building in high-stakes environments

A line from Temie that stays with people:

“I thought it was so unjust that women could die in childbirth.”

Lesson learned from her journey:

Your “unfair moment” can become your life’s work.

Everyone is raising millions of dollars.
It feels like you're missing a train.

- “We raised $50 M!”
- “We made $100 M ARR!”
- “Our startup is valued at $1B!”
You see on LinkedIn almost every day.

First, you get excited and inspired.
Then you think you’re missing a train.
You feel like you are way behind the game.
You get discouraged from continuing your work.

This is a normal reaction when you compare.
Comparing yourself impacts your passion.
It prevents you from growing healthy.
It pushes you for wrong choices.

How not to get into that trap?
Learn about their journey & stories.
Accept - there is no overnight success.
Avoid comparing your success with theirs.

On LinkedIn most things look big.
You don't know the sacrifices they made.
Instead of comparing your results vs. theirs.
Check where you were at least 10 months ago.

If you still feel behind, talk to people. 
Who is familiar with your journey.
Who had similar experiences.
Who is ahead of you?
To support you.
To guide you.
