Nobody sounds like AI anymore.
Now we all sound like assholes instead.

Because apparently the new LinkedIn sport is “spot the  AI copy”:

“That’s an em dash. AI.”
“That’s a listicle. AI.”
“That sentence flowed too well. AI.”

Bro…

Sometimes a good writer is just a good writer.

You’re not morally superior because you didn’t use ChatGPT.

It doesn’t make you Stephen King.
It doesn’t even make you Budget King.

Here’s what actually matters in writing:

Make people feel something.
Make them think something.
Make them do something.

(Yeah I just used the rule of three, suck it.)

Good writing isn’t “human” or “AI.”

Good writing is whatever lands.

Judge the post by the impact.

Not by whether it includes an em dash.

OK?

Posting on LinkedIn is already hard as it is. 

So what if Tom used a little tool? 

Don't pick on Tom. 

Anyway…

I supply words to the rich and busy. Part Owner of the “MEME team” and responsible for bringing fun back to LinkedIn, one meme at a time.

"I love you but..."
(This is sentence #1)

"I love you but I'm married"
(This is sentence #2)

Whenever i get hit on in the DMs I use sentence #2 as my reply.

It instantly ends the conversation.

Now imagine if I replied with the first sentence instead...

The person on the other end would start thinking:

He loves me but maybe he's gay
He loves me but maybe he's not gay
He loves me but maybe he's unsure
He loves me but may he's into rabbits more...

Basically sentence #1 will give them 500 times more incentive to try and FIND more information.

Sentence 2 will simply end the conversation...

The same applies to your hooks On LinkedIn.

Don't write a hook that ends the conversation.

Write a hook that wants them to read MORE.

Rookie Storytelling on LinkedIn: 

1. My partner cheated and I learnt about the attention economy
2. I used to be broke now I'm rich. (Buy my course to learn how)
3. I burned dinner and understood the value of multitasking.
4. I got lost hiking and discovered my career path.
5. My dog died and taught me writing. 

These stories might get you reactions. 
But they won't get you sales. 

Instead,

Expert Storytelling on LinkedIn: 

1. Your origin story (whotf are you and why are you here?) 
2. Your transformation story (How did you become good?) 
3. Your reflective story (What did you learn?) 
4. Your purpose story (Why are you doing this?) 
5. Your client story (How did you help someone else?) 

You can tell these using Ash's 6P framework. 

Protagonist: Who is this story about?
Present: Where does this story start? 
Problem: What was the challenge they faced?
Pit: What was the lowest point for them?
Progress: How did they get out of the pit?
Power: How did they regain their power? 

(Save this for whenever you decide to actually do it)

Whether you are looking for a job or looking for a client. 

These 5 stories will help you establish authority.

You’re being lied to about cybersecurity.

I keep seeing videos of people saying they “got into cybersecurity” with no background, working remotely from the beach, making six figures. It sounds great but It’s also not real.

I’ve been in cybersecurity for years and it took me a long time to build actual skills, understand how things work and earn trust. That’s the part nobody talks about. There were no shortcuts and no overnight wins.

Cybersecurity isn’t easy to break into, whether you’re entry level or mid-career. 

Companies literally trusting you with their most sensitive data and systems. 

One mistake can cost them millions sometimes more. They’re not rolling the dice on someone who just finished a course last weekend.

Certifications and online classes can help they’re not useless but by themselves, they don’t get you hired. This field expects you to understand networks, systems, databases, and how real environments run under pressure.

If someone is paying you six figures to defend business assets, it makes sense that you actually know what you’re doing.

I was able to build a career in cybersecurity, but it came from years of learning, messing up and asking questions, and staying in it when it wasn’t glamorous.

So if you’re trying to break in and feel behind because of what you see online, don’t. 

Most of that is noise. Focus on the fundamentals, get hands-on experience, and be patient. 

The path is real. The hype isn’t :)

If you’re applying to hundreds or thousands of jobs and not hearing anything back there’s probably a reason.

I’m not a recruiter. I’m speaking from the other side of this. 

I have heard from people that apply to 1,000–3,000 job roles and get nowhere. 

A lot of that comes down to ghost jobs. Roles that stay posted even though the company isn’t actually hiring anymore.

When I was job hunting for a cybersecurity sales role, I didn’t just blast applications everywhere. 

I went directly to company websites to make sure the job was real, applied there, and then followed up with emails and cold calls hiring managers to stand out from everyone else.

If it wasn’t on their site, I didn’t waste time on it.

Job boards don’t always keep up. 

A role can be closed internally but still sit on sites like Indeed for weeks or months. You apply, and it goes nowhere.

Sending out thousands of applications feels like progress but most of the time it isn’t. 

So being selective and intentional worked way better for me.

Just sharing what I saw firsthand.

Just some advice for all the jobseekers in 2026.

This screenshot is a real conversation.

A $200,000 ransom demand.

A business explaining that they don’t have anywhere near that kind of money.

A cybercriminal who responds with "Sad to hear that."

We talk a lot in this industry about “resilience” and “recovery.”

But for many small businesses, there is no recovery if the doors never reopen.

Incognito mode doesn't equal invisibility bros and gals.
Stop pretending it is.
You’re not anonymous. 

You’re just not saving your browser history. That’s it.
Your boss can still see what you’re doing on company Wi-Fi 😉 

Here’s what Incognito mode actually does....

Doesn’t save your history
Doesn’t keep cookies or data
Useful for testing and logging into multiple accounts.

Here’s what it really doesn’t do....

Hide your activity from your employer so if you are being naughty, they will find you.
Stop your ISP from seeing what sites you visit
Block websites from tracking you by IP 
Prevent malware, phishing, or weird browser extensions

Incognito is great if you’re buying a gift or using a shared computer.
It’s not a security tool. 
If your team thinks otherwise that’s a huge problem.

Incognito mode is good for keeping things clean on your device not for hiding your activity from the outside world.

Security starts with education :-)

Hola LinkedIn, did you know your office printer might be the easiest way into your network?

It’s not just spitting out paper it's a full-on computer with Wi-Fi, storage, and more access than you’d expect.

If I were a threat actor, I would be all over it.

One wrong move and suddenly...
Customer data...
Payroll info...
Personal details are all up for grabs.

A compromised printer can be used to spread malware and take down the entire network it doesn’t matter if you’re just the intern printing memes. If you’re on the network, you’re in the blast zone for sure.

How does this could happen is very simple...

Weak or default passwords
Outdated firmware
Printers sitting wide open on the network
Threat actors can buy the same printer you have, test exploits at home, and walk right in.

This applies at home too.

Those factory settings? Are trash.

What can you do?

At work, talk to your IT team 

Lock down passwords
Keep firmware updated
Segment it properly on the network

At home, please take five minutes:

Change the default password
Turn off features you don’t use
Treat it like the computer it actually is
Don’t ignore these things.

If it’s online, it’s a target.

So next time you hit print please ask yourself the following. 

Is this thing helping or helping someone else?

What’s one quick move you can make today to keep your printer from becoming a threat hackers' front door?

Technical skills alone won’t save you.

I see people with a bunch of certifications who still can’t get hired. 

Not because they aren’t smart but because they can’t communicate or connect.

You can be the most technical person in the room but if the team doesn’t like working with you, you’re not getting the job. 

One of the biggest career hacks is networking done the right way.

Networking is not walking up to a recruiter and shoving your resume in their face and asking for a job that only creating noise.

Recruiters and hiring managers see resumes all day and another piece of paper won’t make you stand out.

What does work? You know being human.

Talk to them and ask how they like working there. 

Ask about the role, their team the problems they’re actually dealing with and build rapport.

Here’s the part people don’t like hearing strong social skills can sometimes beat strong technical skills especially in tech world, but that very combo is rare.

Networking doesn’t only happen at career fairs, it happens on LinkedIn, at events, through warm intros and even casual conversations.

I didn’t land my current role by applying online I networked with the right person who connected me to someone else.  

That’s how jobs really get filled.  Be strategic.

Is cybersecurity a job or a whole industry?

A lot of people think it’s just tools. 

Firewalls
Antivirus software.

Some IT thing running in the background.
It’s way bigger than that.

To me, cybersecurity is basically a shield.
Its job is simple protect what matters.

Password
Customer information
Bank details
Private company data

If a company gets hacked, people don’t just forget about it they lose trust and once trust is gone, it’s really hard to get back. That damage can cost way more than money.

That’s why companies everywhere are investing heavily in cybersecurity right now.

Organizations are facing over 2,000 attack attempts per week on average. Globally, that adds up to tens of millions of attacks happening constantly.

So no cybersecurity isn’t just a job.

It’s an entire industry built around protecting businesses and the people who rely on them.

It’s only getting bigger.   

This is the time to get involved in the industry!

You might be compromised and not even know it 

Most people think they’d definitely know if their computer was hacked.
I used to think that too.

When mine was compromised, I was just at home on my laptop.
No big warning.
No ransom screen.

Just some annoying pop ups.
A couple weird browser redirects.
Things running slower than normal.

I almost brushed it off. I think most people would have. 

We’re so used to tech being SO glitchy that we don’t stop to question it anymore.
We just assume it’s well one of those things.

That’s exactly what cyber attackers rely on.

Here’s what I didn’t fully appreciate until it happened to me that…

Most cyberattacks aren’t loud.
They don’t announce themselves.

They sit quietly, watch and collect.

Once I realized that I shut everything down.

What I did next probably was overkill, but I wasn’t taking chances):

—Killed the Wi-Fi
—Ran more than one security scan
—Changed every password from a clean machine
—Wiped and reinstalled the OS
—Turned on MFA everywhere I could. This step is always missed. 

This isn’t about being paranoid.
It’s about not being naive.

If you ever get that feeling like something’s not right trust it.

PS: This things happens to very technical people too and maybe especially to them.
