I’ve always wondered why writing a book feels like the ultimate goal.

For years, it was the pinnacle.
Like landing the front cover of a magazine.
You’d made it.

But I keep thinking… then what?
The moment passes.
The milestone gets ticked.

And you’re back, asking what actually changed.
Maybe that’s what’s interesting about it.

Are we chasing the work?
Or the symbol of success?

A book feels permanent.
But the impact is often brief.

What seems to last longer is the body of work behind it.
The ideas shared over time.
The thinking people recognise you for.

Not a single peak.
But ongoing presence.

I haven’t written a book.
But I ask myself, haven’t I been doing that every week by sharing content?
Maybe I am a published author.
Just spread over a lifetime.

I don’t have the answer.
I’m just noticing that the things we idolise as “end goals” don’t always build long-term relevance.

And wondering whether what really compounds is the work that never stops.

Every time you hesitate, someone else takes the opportunity you were qualified for.
Not because they’re better. Because they acted.

We love to talk about consistency.
But consistency without intention doesn’t move careers. It just fills time.

You can work hard for years and still be overlooked, underpaid, and waiting.
