I'm a 10-year systems and ops veteran turned marketer (woah - I know!), host of the show Inside the Process, a proud mom of two boys, a gold medal-holding blue belt in jiu-jitsu, a health-conscious foodie and weigh-lifter, a content creator and so much more...

And yeah…a relentless advocate for high performance and doing anything you put your mind to!

My work-life superpower? Making ideas happen, creating systems, making work easier and helping everyone grow! I've spent years leading continuous improvement initiatives and have worked on just about everything a business touches at its roots. Whether it's process improvement, systems, ops, tech, marketing, project management… or anything in between… I'm always down to crush it. (And I usually do...humble brag.)

My personal superpower? I have an uncanny ability to see the silver lining and transform obstacles into stepping stones for growth. I've mastered the art of resilience and versatility. I have an unwavering belief that with the right mindset and determination, any hurdle can be overcome. Ask me about it sometime...

A co-worker once called out in a meeting that I was an "overachiever."

I think it was a compliment?

But I immediately wondered: can someone "over" achieve? 

What does that even mean?

I've always aimed for high achiever. So I was naturally curious to understand where that line was drawn.

And truthfully, I think the line between high-achiever and overachiever is pretty thin.

Overachievers are often overthinkers. (Guilty of this.)

Thy're often chronically switched “on.” (Oof been guilty here too.)

Thinking, analyzing, planning, and worrying.

But here’s what I believe:

High achievers win.
Overachievers burn out.

You can be a high achiever without crossing into overachiever territory and getting called out by your peers. 

The secret lies in learning to reset your thinking (aka not overthinking):

1) Stop pretending you can read minds.

Take people at face value. Let people mean what they say. Don't invent problems where none exist (or are expressed).

2) Avoid assumption spiraling.

Rather than letting your mind spin out endless hypothetical scenarios, commit to operating based on facts. When you need more information or clarity, don’t shy away from asking specific questions directly. Consciously short-circuit the habit of speculating without insight. An assumption-free mindset keeps you grounded in reality instead of getting lost in overthinking.

3) Embrace uncertainty. 

Overachievers often fall into patterns where they crave certainty and struggle with ambiguity. Practice allowing room for the unknown. It will often surprise you in the best ways. (And this is the only way to rewire your brain.)

4) Practice present-moment awareness. 

Overthinkers often get caught up ruminating about the past or catastrophizing about the future. Stay grounded in the present.

5) Separate facts from stories.

Our minds have a habit of turning neutral facts into negative narratives or worst-case scenarios. Learn to identify when you're spinning up stories instead of sticking to observable facts.

The key is to stop overdoing it (in your mind first). 

High achievement requires relentless focus and energy preservation.

That's the tea for today.

You’ve been conditioned by a culture that benefits from you being exhausted. 

But you can’t survive in a house on fire. 

And putting out the flames isn’t enough to build your dream house either. 

Self-care has two forms. 

One is the traditional “me time” activities we do to nurture our physical wellbeing. 

The usual suspects: Eating like an adult. Getting good sleep. Moving your body. Setting boundaries. Small habits that keep structural integrity.

And then there’s more intentional, deeply rooted repair and recovery.

And no one is immune to needing both.

You need:

Real time alone, that isn’t scrolling. 
Talking to someone who doesn’t need anything from you. 
Doing something that reminds you you’re more than your responsibilities.

When you’re depleted, maintenance won’t fix it.
You can’t Starbucks latte your way to the life you imagine.

You have to love yourself and the life you're building enough to prioritize the intention it takes.
