Leading on from the VCP below, I led the finance transformation workstream with a focus on:
•	creating a new chart of accounts that consolidated the products and the services side of the business;  
•	supported the technology and systems behind the commercial insights Power BI reports and underlying data warehouses;
•	identified upskilling requirements of the Finance department including the need for SAP FICO configuration support and a fit for purpose FP&A function;
•	investment in SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analytics Planning to support the VCP and new FP&A department;
•	created a project to build a new forecasting model in Excel which included P&L’s, Balance Sheets, Working Capital, Cashflow forecasting for 5 years by segment, sector, channel, customer, SKU, etc; 
•	project management of a number of sub-projects including standard costing, supplier support and vendor/customer rebates;
•	liaising with senior stakeholders to create a new fit for purpose month-end reporting board pack;
•	led a small team in delivering the above.

Interim - Finance Transformation Director

I was asked by the incoming CEO to support him with the first phase of his strategic review which was to create a Value Creation Plan for the business, as the business EBITDA ROCE was significantly lower than expectations. This entailed the following:-
•	working with all stakeholders particularly finance to understand Arco’s traded contribution by a number of metrics including by segment, sector, channel, customer, SKU etc;
•	the above led to a number of offshoot transformation programmes including sales, e-commerce, supply chain, digital and finance and where I specifically took the lead on the latter workstream;
•	leading a team of over 40 internal colleagues and 3rd party consultants to produce the first phase of the VCP on time (within 3 months) and on budget.

I was asked by Livingbridge Private Equity to support the CFO of Jungle Creations to create a new board pack that helped the company to have a more strategic discussion during their month end board meeting and that was more forward looking than backward looking. This entailed:
•	working with all stakeholders including the private equity investors, portco board and incoming chairman to devise a board report that met the needs of the entire audience;
•	creating a process via an Excel workbook that updated a PowerPoint board report presentation, quickly and simply and thereby left more time to add insightful commentary (80/20 rule in preparing/adding insight flipped to 20/80 in favour of adding insight and knowledge for the board;  
•	creating a digital board reporting solution allowing users to view the board/committee reports and supplementary information in an easy-to-use desktop or mobile application whilst also allowing for annotations to highlight early queries and add useful notes;
•	recommend improvements in the FP&A monthly process.
The above were delivered to time and on budget.

I supported the company through a sale to UKGI on behalf of the MOD. This included preparing the business case for a near £500m recapitalisation investment programme into the business over the next 20 years. I set up from scratch the Recap Finance function including but not limited to:-
•	creating and maintaining the 20 year project and cashflow forecast;
•	monthly accounts preparation and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders;
•	monthly equity funding request to the HMG departments;
•	supporting the operations team with spend business cases on the recapitalisation programme;
•	purchase order and invoice approval including contractual schedule adherence;
•	designing and initiating a data warehouse project up to and including the ITT and RFQ.

•	supported in the acquisition of seven major steelworks and five service centres across seven European countries from ArcelorMittal and 14,000 employees; in a deal worth over €740 million;
•	controlling phase 1 of the project finance costs of the acquisition and liaising with all the workstream managers to control and monitor costs, and then subsequently reporting to the senior management and owners of the business;
•	building the programme finance templates for phase 2 of the programme including the 100-day transformation plan; 
•	building and distributing a set of daily cashflow forecasts with ABL facilities to all entities in the extended global business which spanned over 100 companies and multiple global geographies and currencies in a consistent format. This also included appropriate consolidations and weekly linked  PowerPoint reporting which then facilitated the Treasury department’s circulation of cash among the group including the ability to perform natural as well as artificial hedging;
•	designing and coordinating a shared drive with VPN infrastructure that allowed instant delivery, reporting and consolidation of the above to all global companies in the expanded group.
