Teneika Askew is an Analytics Leader with more than 10 years of experience providing analytics, business process improvement and consulting services. She specializes in data analyses around financial, talent and operational data and driving workforce strategies for Fortune 500 companies.

Group Product Director - Data Science & Analytics Enablement

The consultant has become the client! I've returned as Product Manager and leader in the Navy's first data focused consulting division, Data and Digital Transformation. I will be bringing my entrepreneurial spirt to build, launch and direct the Data Science as a Service and Analytics Enablement portfolio of products and services.

Stack: Databricks, AWS

I'll be hiring for Data Scientists pretty soon and I'm really interested in meeting people who enjoy building, while learning. We have a lot of high impact mission work that I find pretty cool in the intersection of Cyber and AI.

We're working on Cloud Automation, lots of big data movement between systems and Machine Learning models that can scale 2-3x almost monthly.

Our tech stack is VS Code, GitLab and AWS driven right now and could change. AWS specifically:

Not completely exhaustive of everything but these are the day to day services. If you've built projects in Python, share links to your portfolio and I'll check them out! If you've also worked on varying classification and regression models let me know. There's a lot of flexibility here if you haven't, your skills are always transferable from one area of data science and engineering to the other. Don't be afraid to tell your story!

Everyone can get knocked back from interviews, but the real kicker (whilst you’re down) is spending time, energy and preparation, then not receiving any feedback to help you on your journey.

As humans (most of us), we hate confrontation. 

Some of us find it difficult to be confident in selling ourselves. Some of us are just amazing when we’re actually on the job, getting stuck in.

When it comes to “pushing back”, not everyone feels comfortable asking.

But in this video, I show you one small paragraph that could genuinely help and, over time, build confidence.

This paragraph is:

👉🏻 Professional
👉🏻 Polite
👉🏻 Not asking for the world

Ideally, any candidate that takes the time to interview should get something back. But a “Thanks, no thanks” with no reason why can take a massive toll on your confidence.

This may feel uncomfortable at first and that’s completely normal.

But over time, it can help you:

👉🏻 Develop in areas you may actually need to work on

👉🏻 Build confidence in pushing back in the right way

Start using this: “Thanks for letting me know.
If you’re able to share one area I could work on, it would be genuinely helpful.”

You might not get anything back but being honest, you might not have got anything anyway so you’re not really losing anything.

This helps on every level, especially giving you a way to put yourself out there without feeling awkward or like you’re not being yourself.

Wendy speaks openly about being in a domestic abuse relationship and how, without an understanding of her ADHD, she found herself repeating patterns and going back to people who felt familiar, even when they were harmful.

Although Wendy was formally diagnosed with ADHD in March 2025, the signs had been there for years. The people pleasing. The self-doubt. The need to be accepted. All of it finally started to make sense once she had the language and understanding for how her brain works.

What really stands out in this conversation is Wendy’s positivity. Even when talking about difficult chapters of her life, she brings warmth, insight and hope.
