Instigate automated protocols for processes if applicable. Working with the Alzheimer's groups and programming the Biomek FX robot. Also presenting research updates in lab meetings.

Key Achievements:
• Co-authored 2 papers – “A New Cell Model for Investigating Prion Strain
Selection and Adaptation” and “Soluble Aβ aggregates can inhibit prion propagation”
• Optimised and automated an ELISA protocol on the Biomek FX liquid handler, plate washer and plate reader
• Automated an experiment that screened molecular compounds investigating inhibition of prion propagation
• Developed a tool with R that modelled the mouse brain in 3D to visualise infection and the spread over time. Influenced the director to continue with the pilot study to generate more data for this visualisation

- Optimised the ELISA protocol to be processed on the robot and automated.
- Advance PhD student projects through careful planning and by analysing data.
- Screening of molecular compounds and specific compounds that inhibited prion propagation. Also screening of different antibodies for optimising assays and to identify targets, all custom programmed onto the robot for automation. Successful hits were brought forward for further testing and experiments.
- Achieved an initial prototype of a mouse brain 3D model visualised with input of data first on R with scripts and secondly on Blender.
- Saw an opportunity to optimise the manual DNA extraction method onto the Biomek FX for automation. Successfully achieved this which has resulted in increased workflow and increased accuracy of samples.
