I’ve built my career helping CEOs & brands reposition, grow & lead through inflection points driving $100M in top line growth collectively—long before AI dominated the headlines.

But when I advised Magick ML, one of the earliest agentic AI environments (before “AI agents” were even a thing), I had my “oh sh*t” / “aha” moment:

After 7 years of advising and building, I’ve officially stepped down as Co-Chair of DC Startup & Tech Week (Formerly DC Startup Week), head of growth, and track lead for AI & emerging tech.  

This wasn’t a quick decision. It was a thoughtful one.

When I returned to DC after nearly two decades in New York, I had a front-row seat to the rise of this region.

Amazon HQ2 landing in Northern VA.
Maryland’s life sciences and biotech surge.
Northern Virginia becoming the corridor to data centers and tech. 
DC’s leadership across gov’t innovation, social impact, national security,Web3, and emerging tech.

Quietly and powerfully, the DMV region has become one of the most important innovation ecosystems in the country (and building globally).

Being part of DCSTW during that evolution has been one of the greatest honors of my career.

What started as a startup week became the largest entrepreneur and investor convening in the Mid-Atlantic—powered by founders, funders, universities, gov’t leaders, sponsors, operators, and volunteers who believed deeply in building something bigger than themselves.

Last year’s 10-year anniversary felt like a pinnacle moment. Not just for the event—but for the ecosystem.

Nearly 3 years ago, while advising Magick ML (one of the earliest AI agent development environments), I saw firsthand that what’s coming is bigger than the advent of the Internet.

We are entering an era where intelligence is becoming the operating layer of businesses.

This isn’t a digital transformation—this is a business rewiring.

The next 3–5 years will define which institutions, companies & leaders shape the future—and which get reshaped by it.

I feel called to build, educate, and launch new ventures in this arena—building the next gen of intelligent companies designed for scale and acquisition.

That work has been taking shape through Disruptive AI - Making Businesses Intelligent , The AI CEO Podcast With Seema Alexander, AI BusinessCon—the world’s first business rewiring conference (in partnership with Simple Multimedia-link in comments), our AI venture arm, and keynotes and exec workshops helping leaders understand how AI is reshaping business.
