I built this business from the ground-up, marketing and successfully selling to over 10 grocery chains over 3 years. In 2014, I sold this business to focus on Accelity.

I managed the marketing department at Zywave. As product marketers, we focused on go to market strategy and brand awareness. In addition, my team created joint sales and marketing communications and demo materials to speak to clients in a meaningful way. The marketing department also manages zywave.com content and Zywave's social media presence.

The Market Analyst is a marketing and product management role. I was the analyst on Zywave's best selling product—Broker Briefcase Benefits. In this role, I studied market developments and maintained an understanding of the constantly changing field. In addition, I conducted won, loss, exit, and other partner interviews to gain a deeper understanding of Zywave's broker clients. Another key piece of this role is analyzing product performance monthly to identify hot topics, product usage trends, and focus for content to reinforce product roadmap.

Market Analyst

I worked to brand Zywave as a premiere Milwaukee employer and expand local awareness. Presented at speaking engagements on local campuses, at job fairs, and other volunteer opportunities. I was part of a task force that pioneered Zywave's social media presence by writing vision documents, evaluating reporting tools, holding company-wide training sessions, and creating pages on Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin.

GE Healthcare

Worked in the cardiology department to expanded Computed Tomography marketing library by coordinating image layouts and text in customer brochures, Powerpoints, and other materials. In addition, I founded the Marketing Path program to enhance associates knowledge of the role of Marketing in Healthcare. My team led a business improvement project that concentrated on increasing Net Promoter Score in the cardiology department. Finally, I provided sales support for 14 Account Managers who exceeded an sales target of $56 million in 2008.

It all started in 1986 in Lansing, Michigan.

Kidding. (Well, not really, but that’s not how I’m going to start this story.)

I started my entrepreneurial journey with cookies. Really. A vegan cookie company… and I wasn’t vegan (I gave it a shot and dang, it was hard!). I turned four cookie recipes into a business—designing packaging, finding a kitchen and making the cookies, eventually outsourcing production, then selling and establishing distribution to 12 grocery stores around Wisconsin.

The cookies taught me how to hustle. As a 24-year-old MBA, I definitely didn’t picture myself hoisting up tents at farmers markets to hand out $5 bags of cookies, or being the demo lady at the grocery store, but there I was. I still had a full-time job running the marketing department at a SaaS company, and a baby.

I’m so grateful for that experience because the money I made helped me start Accelity. What began as a one-woman consultancy blossomed into a kick-ass team of 20 and counting and a group of amazing, loyal clients all over the US.

LinkedIn has been a HUGE contributor to our growth over the past few years. I got talked into—okay, almost forced; I really, really didn’t want to do it—publishing videos about my entrepreneurial experiences in mid-2018 and have steadily grown an audience since. The LinkedIn community has given me so much love and support and I could not possibly be more grateful for the opportunities.

Outside of my professional life, I was a foster parent for two years and two of my three beautiful kiddos were adopted in Milwaukee. People always ask about hobbies, so here you go: lots of travel, fitness, exploring Milwaukee, and playing a lot of Taco vs. Burrito with my kids.

So proud of my little "Boss Babe" and here's why... if you've followed me for awhile you might remember her as a cute pre-teen. I would post some of her little talks on my LinkedIn. However, then she hit the teen years,and the self-confidence started to fade. As a parent to 5 I've seen the same scenario multiple times when they hit this age. All of the sudden limiting beliefs start to creep in. She needed to work through this, she needed a challenge that terrified her because I'm a big believer in that is how you create confidence. On the the other side of jumping through fear there is confidence waiting. I also speak to replacing fear with "Respect for the Preparation". It all came together in this day and her message is a powerful one. I'll put link to full video in comments below.

CONSISTENCY! It's not sexy until it compounds and then 🔥🔥🔥. Stacking habits is where it's at! 2nd Pro Hyrox after a my daughters Ted talk on Sat. Our plane got in super late. I was running on little sleep and high emotionally charged event but gave it what I had left. Ended up 6th in the most competitive field I've raced so far. Happy #FITNESSFRIDAY get out there and get moving. I would love to hear your weekend fitness plans.

Know when to take advice... and when to reject it. If you've done the work, you just may prove them wrong. This sport is still so new... there is still so much to learn...everyone is saying break in btwn these 4 lengths. But I felt better staying in this zone and it really paid off. I improved my time tremendously and still felt great on the run after. Remember there is "no one size fits all" for life. Respect the preparation and then trust that you'll get the job done. 💪🏻apply this to all areas of work and life.

True STORY, and your reminder to give yourself credit for your hard work. Can you believe I literally sat there for a few minutes thinking I had only done 3 marathons. 😂Then it hit me and I didn't even know how many Ironmans I had done. 10 and those marathons count too,believe me😩. Then I counted my half Ironmans and it all started adding up to way more than I thought. 

Unfortunately, this is the downside of being a high performer at times. We minimize our wins. So this is your reminder that's it's not bragging, its Validation of your hard work!

So what's your opinion on AI as influencers? It's getting a little crazy to me scrolling wondering who's real and who's not? In healthcare my physicians did not like the idea of using them for easier content creation. All of their reasoning made sense to me. Would love to hear your thoughts. It's crazy how I posted this pic and someone was so quickly able to create this. This made me smile but they could see how quickly your image could be used to put out messaging that you had no part in producing.

These shoes literally gave me my race season back. After last year I was struggling with a posterior tibial injury for 11 months that would not go away. I was told it was tendinitis just deal with it. I couldn't go more than 8 miles and then it would start swelling and become extremely painful. I thought long distance was going to be out of the question for me this year. 

Then I had Lindsay on my podcast. She sent me a pair of her shoes specially designed to support women's feet and ankles. With each run I started to feel the pain less and less. Eventually I went over the 8 mile mark, it was a little sore but NOTHING like before. And then as I was able to train again these shoes carried me all the way through the Ironman World Championship run where I helped the first woman with Multiple Sclerosis and a pacemaker finish. You see these aren't just shoes she has designed. These shoes allow you to chase your dreams. So yes, I love to brag on these shoes and her vision every chance I get. Go support!
