My instructional design journey began with TiER1 in 2016, where I started as a junior ID supporting a Department of Defense client. After graduating, TiER1 hired me as a full-time contractor. As my role expanded, I advanced to lead instructional designer, assuming responsibility for learning strategy on larger projects, while honing my skills in developing learner-centric solutions. My collaboration with our team and the client has resulted in significant improvements in learning culture and job performance for over 11,000 diverse personnel.

• Learning Strategist/Lead Instructional Designer for multiple curriculum areas for Department of Defense University.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs throughout the ADDIE process.
• Develop comprehensive and effective instructional strategies, designs, and products for e-learning, instructor-led training (including virtual ILT), and blended learning environments.

In this role as a contractor through Insight Global, I supported Siemens as a Learning Strategist and Lead Instructional Designer, designing and developing self-paced eLearning courses for a product lifecycle management process. I implemented a learning strategy to transform complex technical material into a cohesive, user-friendly experience. By leveraging adult learning principles and effective UX design, I ensured the self-led presentations were accessible while maintaining comprehensive content. Alongside my ongoing role with TiER1, I effectively managed both projects by prioritizing my responsibilities to achieve exceptional results.

• Learning Strategist/Lead Instructional Designer for new Siemens training initiative.
• Collaborated with stakeholders/SMEs throughout the ADDIE process.
• Led team project plan/meetings, from kickoff through delivery, to accurately analyze, synthesize, and then effectively meet client needs.
•  Designed and developed interactive self-paced training modules reflecting a product Lifecycle Management process.

Kroger

During a brief pause in work with TiER1, I collaborated with Kroger on the 75th Percentile initiative to increase cardboard bale reduction efforts. I conducted analyses and delivered train-the-trainer sessions across stores in Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Denver. Working with stakeholders and SMEs, I defined learning objectives and evaluated outcomes for the Cardboard Deployment training course. By applying ADDIE and adult learning principles, I provided engaging training that resulted in a 133% increase in cardboard bale production in my divisions, which was the highest percent increase organization-wide.

• Collaborated with stakeholders and SMEs to define and analyze learning objectives and evaluate outcomes of Cardboard Deployment training course related to 75th Percentile initiative.
• Applied knowledge of ADDIE to provide learning solutions for course based on field-level evaluation.
• Conducted analysis of in-store performance (relative to store, district, division, and enterprise) to identify opportunities to close learning gaps and ensure sustainment of best practices.
• Applied knowledge of adult learning principles to provide engaging instructor-led training to store managers and monitor results.

Driven by a passion for creating learner-centric performance solutions, I have over seven years of experience as an Instructional Designer. My instructional design journey began in 2016 with TiER1 Performance, where I contributed to a variety of projects aimed at improving organizational performance through learning. My work at TiER1 was recognized with the Dragon Slayer Award from the Defense Security Cooperation University for design excellence, reflecting the impact of my learner-focused solutions in driving performance improvements. Alongside my work with TiER1, I’ve had the opportunity to consult on various projects and lead learning initiatives across industries, including work with TLC Media Design, Kroger, and Siemens.

I have contributed to and/or led multiple projects involving client engagement, organizational needs analysis, learning strategy, e-learning design and development, instructor-led training (including virtual ILT), train-the-trainer sessions, workshops, technical writing, competency-based training, experiential learning, and curriculum design and mapping.
