When I see content on other platforms or even on LinkedIn itself making fun of this platform, it gets to me a little. 

Because this is a platform that completely changed my life.
(and when I say that, I'm not bullshitting. Hear me out.)

2022 was the year I started using LinkedIn. I began my career writing content for a creator here, helped grow his followers from 190 to 90,000 in less than two years. 

And I spent the next few years helping other entrepreneurs build their personal brands on this platform.

Having been deep in LinkedIn for 6 years now, I think I can speak to what it does to a consumer and what I'd like to see change.

1. Since becoming active here last month, as much as I've learned about "how to effectively use AI," it's left me feeling overwhelmed and a little incompetent. Like the only way I can belong here is if I talk about AI.

2. On any other platform, you'll find raw, authentic content. A little out of the box. But LinkedIn feels like everything is optimized. As a consumer, I'd love more variety.

3. The text posts are overly optimized for the skim-through audience and they don't make the reader feel anything.

Here's what I'd like to see more of:

Messy, imperfect, and more nuanced content. Not obsessively optimizing for attention spans, but actually making the other person feel something.

Saw these billboards recently?


Same copy. Two completely different brands. And somehow… it works for both.

What I really like is how simple it is. No fancy graphics. No heavy taglines. No “download now” or “limited offer” screaming at you.

It doesn’t feel like they’re trying to sell you something. It feels like a joke you’re in on. And that’s what makes it refreshing.

I remember seeing this on Instagram and actually smiling.

Smart. Subtle. And it doesn’t feel like marketing shoved in your face.

Makes me wonder how they even came up with this collaboration. Like… who reached out to whom first?
