The exact checklist I share with my clients before any interview 👇

Not to help them “sound impressive.”

To help them remove hiring doubt.

Because interviews aren’t won on charisma.

They’re won on clarity.

Every question you’re asked is really about one thing:
Risk.
→ Can we trust this person?
→ Will they ramp quickly?
→ Will they create impact?
→ Will they stay?
Most candidates answer what was asked.

Strong candidates answer what’s underneath it.

That’s the difference.

Before any interview, I make my clients pressure-test five things:

• Does your story show direction, or drift?
• Can you clearly articulate the business impact you’ve had?
• Do you explain your decisions, or just the outcomes?
• Are you positioning yourself as growth-oriented, not restless?
• Do your questions signal ownership?

If any of those are weak, the offer gets shaky.

A few patterns I see constantly:

➤ People over-index on experience but under-explain judgment.

➤ They give polished strengths but no evidence.

➤ And when the interviewer says, “Do you have any questions?”

They ask something safe instead of something strategic.

The strongest candidates understand this:

You’re not there to prove you’re capable.

Four simple words.

And suddenly your brain goes blank.

10 years of work
5 roles
12 projects
…and somehow summarize it in 30 seconds 🙄

Instead of overthinking it, use this simple structure.

Here’s one that works in almost every interview:

✅ 1. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞

Anchor them in the present.

Who are you professionally today?

Example:  “I’m a product manager with 6 years of experience in fintech, focused on building user-centric products and improving customer adoption.”

Now they know exactly who you are.

✅ 2. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 1–2 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬

What are you known for? Pick the skills that matter most for the role.

Example:
“My core strengths are product strategy and cross-functional collaboration. In my current role, I’ve worked closely with engineering and design teams to launch products used by over 200K users.”

This shows what you’re good at.

✅ 3. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Add one result that proves your impact.

Example:
“One project I’m particularly proud of was leading a feature rollout that increased user engagement by 35% within three months.”

Now the interviewer sees results, not just responsibilities.
