I have helped clients design and define their desired future states and have supported their people through difficult change.  Clients include the Home Office, Roche, Santander Bank, St Andrews Healthcare, Kuwait National Petroleum Company and Swiss Re.

Recent experience:
- Guided an African telco client through an organisation re-design project in preparation for an increase from 12 million to 24 million subscribers in a 3-year timeframe
- Advised a multi-national client on the re-organisation of a global business unit in order to be more responsive to their product users, including:
      * An Organisation Design for local, regional and global levels including linking ‘back office’ with ‘front office’
      * A Business Operating Model, including detailed workforce models, interactions between parts of the business unit and external face-offs
      * Detailed business processes for global roll-out, including fully documented process maps and high-level role descriptions and supported the client’s IT architecture strategy
      * Full engagement with senior stakeholders from key business units within global operations that will be directly affected by the new strategy, processes and associated business artefacts
- Defined client’s target organisational culture in response to a massive increase in competitiveness in a key product market worth USD7 billion market.  This project had implications for the global operations of the product’s business unit of around 700 people, including sales, marketing, logistics and medical people
- Parachuted in to a high-velocity IT project with a large UK health provider to bring it back ‘from the brink’.  Developed an effective delivery and change management plan, resulting in successful deployment on time, on budget, at twice the speed of reference sites with no additional risk to 3,500+ staff (incl senior medical practitioners, junior doctors, qualified nurses & pharmacists) across multiple sites for the benefit of 800+ patients

Coaching young people and career starters to be professional

I coach and teach young people and their managers how to be professional.

Since the start of my working life, I’ve been fascinated with human performance. It used to be all about sport performance, but as my career took me into a corporate direction, I’m now fascinated by the performance of people in organisations.

This led to a doctoral thesis on the topic, and now I share that with young people at the start of their careers, and the people who manage them.

As well as the doctorate, I hold a bachelor’s degree in sports science, an MBA and an LLM. Perhaps even more important than the letters after my name, are the experiences I’ve had working with clients in Australia, the UK, the USA, Nigeria, Kuwait and Switzerland.
