🚨 We need to talk about age bias in hiring… because it’s illogical 🚨 


Not outdated.

Not unfair (although it is).

Just genuinely bad decision-making.

Here’s why writing off older candidates makes no commercial sense at all:

1️⃣ They stick around.
 If you’re betting on loyalty and longevity, someone with a few decades of experience is statistically far more likely to give you solid, multi-year tenure than a younger hire who’s still figuring out what they want next.

2️⃣ They can smell AI nonsense a mile off.
 Experienced leaders don’t just accept outputs at face value. They’ve seen enough real-world scenarios to spot when the tech is confidently wrong.

3️⃣ Knowledge flows both ways.
 Hiring someone more senior often unlocks genuine collaboration. They’re less interested in ladder-climbing and more interested in sharing what they know — without the ego.

4️⃣ They’ve already survived chaos.
 Market swings, recessions, restructures — they’ve lived it. That pattern recognition is gold when things get messy and everyone else is panicking.

5️⃣ And let’s be honest…
 Discounting older talent is basically discriminating against the person you’re about to become. Which is a strange long-term strategy.
