As a researcher with Odisee, I manage the operational aspects of the research project "Duurzaam en professioneel facilitair management in scholen".

In this role, I focus on:
➡️ Gaining a deep understanding of the sustainability and facility management challenges schools face, with an emphasis on energy, compliance, and financial considerations.
➡️ Coordinating training sessions, seminars, and networking events aimed at principals and technical experts in the education sector.

Additionally, I supervise the student team working on the development of a networking app designed to connect facility management professionals - drawing on my interest in business analysis.

High Tech Lab maakleerplek

At the High Tech Lab circular makerspace, I played a role in shaping and executing the marketing strategy for a growing community of makers and innovators of Leuven. The most rewarding aspect of this experience was building a community from the ground up. High Tech Lab has since become part of Maakleerplek vzw.

In practice, I led the team of that developed the marketing strategy, which included:
➡️ Defining business objectives and translating them into measurable KPIs, social goals, and target channels.
➡️ Developing supporting assets and tools to drive brand awareness and engagement.
➡️ Establishing a visual identity that aligned with our mission and resonated with our community.
➡️ Engaging with key stakeholders to foster relationships and promote the makerspace's offerings.

At L V N, I’ve structured the processes and team around the employee lifecycle. I’m involved day to day operationally with these activities as well.

I'm currently active as a student consultant for a consultancy project offered by junior enterprise AFC. Simply put, the aim of our project is to make AFC a future-proof organisation. While it is an important partner among junior enterprises, we want to research how it measures up against the competition. There has been a growth of new organisations over the past few years, which offers the possibilities of specialization but also challenges in functional) overlap. AFC has a pro-active mindset and wants to obtain a clearer picture of the possible ways forward. I am part of a fantastic team responsible for this research.

A bit about my background:
With a career that spans both freelance and in-house roles, I've had the opportunity to wear many hats. I’m a true generalist at heart, comfortable bridging disciplines and tackling challenges across various areas of business. 

What excites me the most?
The process of analysis. I thrive on diving into complex situations, dissecting the details, and crafting actionable strategies. I’m less focused on the execution itself - for me, the value is in delivering clear recommendations that lay the groundwork for success. And of course, the human element is key. I find great fulfillment in witnessing teams and individuals take action and pursue their goals with confidence - and I enjoy playing a role in making that happen.

As a bonus, I’m also an unapologetic fan of The Office, so if you ever feel like reaching out with a clever cold email, you have my full attention. 👀

De Vlaamse Hogescholenraad behartigt de belangen van 13 hogescholen in Vlaanderen. Meer dan 2500 onderzoekers, verspreid over Vlaanderen, verrichten praktijkgericht onderzoek.  Ze hebben zowel Vlaamse als internationale projecten in uitvoering. De hogescholen verenigen zich om zich te organiseren op de valorisatie van de onderzoekresultaten en de daarbij horende Kennis Transfer naar bedrijven, organisaties, overheden en onderwijs.  
Ik ondersteun de hogescholen in veranderingstrajecten : de verbetering van de kennisoverdracht naar het werkveld en een digitaal transformatie proces. Verder behartig ik het Vlaams onderzoeksbeleid samen met en voor de hogescholen.  We zetten samen in op impact van het praktijkgericht onderzoek in Vlaanderen en daarbuiten.
Ik coördineer het project BLIKOPENER dat tot doel heeft om 
(1) de innovatieve kennis in de hogescholen beter te ontsluiten naar het werkveld.  Daartoe werd o.a. een website -  www.blikopener.vlaanderen - ontwikkeld.  Deze website bevat een schat aan informatie over het praktijkgericht onderzoek in Vlaanderen.  
(2) de bedrijven en social profit organisaties te ondersteunen tijdens de idee- en ontwerpfase van hun innovatieve projecten.  Via BLIKOPENER krijgen bedrijven en social profitorganisaties eerstelijnsadvies over hun vragen of probleemstellingen, gekaderd in een 19-tal thema's.  Bedrijven en social profitorganisaties vernemen alzo meer inhoudelijke kennis over het onderwerp en ontdekken de samenwerkingsmogelijkheden met hogescholen en andere kennisinstellingen om hun innovatief idee verder uit te werken.
(3) bedrijven en social profit organisaties meer te betrekken bij het praktijkgericht onderzoek van de hogescholen en hen toegang te verlenen tot het kennisnetwerk van de hogescholen.
De Vlaamse Hogescholenraad en de 13 Vlaamse hogescholen zetten hun schouders onder het Vlaams Beleidsplan Artificiële Intelligentie en Cyber Security.  Ik ben lid van de stuurgroepvergadering.
