As a researcher with Odisee, I manage the operational aspects of the research project "Duurzaam en professioneel facilitair management in scholen".

In this role, I focus on:
➡️ Gaining a deep understanding of the sustainability and facility management challenges schools face, with an emphasis on energy, compliance, and financial considerations.
➡️ Coordinating training sessions, seminars, and networking events aimed at principals and technical experts in the education sector.

Additionally, I supervise the student team working on the development of a networking app designed to connect facility management professionals - drawing on my interest in business analysis.

High Tech Lab maakleerplek

At the High Tech Lab circular makerspace, I played a role in shaping and executing the marketing strategy for a growing community of makers and innovators of Leuven. The most rewarding aspect of this experience was building a community from the ground up. High Tech Lab has since become part of Maakleerplek vzw.

In practice, I led the team of that developed the marketing strategy, which included:
➡️ Defining business objectives and translating them into measurable KPIs, social goals, and target channels.
➡️ Developing supporting assets and tools to drive brand awareness and engagement.
➡️ Establishing a visual identity that aligned with our mission and resonated with our community.
➡️ Engaging with key stakeholders to foster relationships and promote the makerspace's offerings.

As Head of HR my chief concern is: "How are my people doing?" 
For me, this is the basis all my other KPI's go back to. 

At L V N, I’ve structured the processes and team around the employee lifecycle. I’m involved day to day operationally with these activities as well. 

In practice my work results in the following objectives:
- establishing and developing an honest employer brand 
- recruiting talented (young) potentials that fit with our culture 
- nurturing the current team and providing development opportunities

Fiscadvies (now: VAN HAVERMAET) is an accounting firm in the larger Leuven area. My role combines projects with ongoing assignments 

Business and marketing:
• Designing a workshop track to boost entrepreneurial skills of our clientele
• Creating marketing materials (blog, social media, flyers,...)
• Developing business plans in client dossiers

HR:
• Responsible for onboarding and offboarding of new employees 
• Wage administration


Project/procedural work:
• Assessing compliance with GDPR and IT security based on ISO27001 / ISO27701
• Developing and documenting standardized processes (e.g. onboarding) 

IT support:
• First-line internal support for 8 FTEs (Windows environment)

AFC - Academics for Companies

I'm currently active as a student consultant for a consultancy project offered by junior enterprise AFC. Simply put, the aim of our project is to make AFC a future-proof organisation. While it is an important partner among junior enterprises, we want to research how it measures up against the competition. There has been a growth of new organisations over the past few years, which offers the possibilities of specialization but also challenges in functional) overlap. AFC has a pro-active mindset and wants to obtain a clearer picture of the possible ways forward. I am part of a fantastic team responsible for this research.

- Sustainability and ocean life: damage control? 
- Leuven Food Sharing (a Leuven based startup)

- Behind the scenes picture of the master's degree in Medieval and Renaissance studies

Along with fellow enthusiasts, I formed a student organisation to bring foreign (italian) students in contact with belgian students, thus creating opportunities for putting our academic knowledge/skills to use. Our aim was also to form a network that first year-students could rely on for feedback and support.

A bit about my background:
With a career that spans both freelance and in-house roles, I've had the opportunity to wear many hats. I’m a true generalist at heart, comfortable bridging disciplines and tackling challenges across various areas of business. 

What excites me the most?
The process of analysis. I thrive on diving into complex situations, dissecting the details, and crafting actionable strategies. I’m less focused on the execution itself - for me, the value is in delivering clear recommendations that lay the groundwork for success. And of course, the human element is key. I find great fulfillment in witnessing teams and individuals take action and pursue their goals with confidence - and I enjoy playing a role in making that happen.

As a bonus, I’m also an unapologetic fan of The Office, so if you ever feel like reaching out with a clever cold email, you have my full attention. 👀
