But we wanted to take it to the next level, so we went hunting for the best in-breed when it comes to intent signals.

1. Multiple signals

Most intent tools out there run this playbook: 1 signal 👉 1 message 👉  1 sequence.

Here’s the issue. You’re wasting contacts because you lack context.

Let’s say you’re tracking job changes and you even have a pretty cool asset on how to shine in your first 90 days for that ICP. That’s cool, but it’s not enough. That person just received 20 “congrats on the new job” emails. How do you stand out? You track more signals and add context.

Turns out the company he just joined is preparing for a merger later this year. And a customer in the same location just purchased your tech to go through a similar transition. The job change becomes your ice breaker. The merger and the relevant social proof become the body.

That’s how you go from a 2% reply rate to 10%.

UserGems has figured out intent orchestration. And that’s no small thing.

2. Contact-level signals and scoring

Unless the incumbents evolve to contact-level signals, they’ll be gone or acquired by a private equity firm in the next 3 years.

“Bank of America visited your website 6 times in the last 2 weeks.” So what?
- Rep: “You can look at the location of the people working there and guess who they are based on your ICP.”
- Me: “Right... Let me email 40 people and hope one of them went on that pricing page.”

Account scoring is often a black box too. 

"Apparently someone somewhere searched for a generic keyword that could mean a hundred different things". Thanks, I guess.

Signals only become actionable if you know WHO to reach out to inside those accounts.

The success formula is reaching out to high-intent contacts inside high-intent accounts, triggered by customizable signals you set up for your context.

3. The last mile

When you run a marathon, the last mile is the hardest one of your life. Same thing with advanced GTM systems.

We built a pretty advanced account scoring model with Clay. But that intelligence lived in Google Sheets and HubSpot. Getting it into Outreach was painful. And even when we pushed signal-driven emails into Outreach, once the first email was sent and call steps appeared, the context disappeared again.

4. All in one

The winners will be the ones that combine: customizable account and contact scoring, signal orchestration, email and call script outputs, BDR intelligence, AND sequencing.

Communicating between tools is a pain. That’s where things break.
And honestly, sequencing is the easy part.

The outbound tools that figured out everything else and are now adding sequencing are dangerous.

Choosing the wrong contract type doesn’t just create admin pain.
It hard-wires risk, cost exposure, and poor behaviour into your supplier relationship.

Start with two simple questions:

➟ Are you buying goods or services?
➟ Is it one-off or recurring?

From there, let scope clarity, uncertainty, flexibility needs, and supplier landscape drive the contract type.

→ Fixed price when scope is clear.
→ Time & Materials when flexibility matters.
→ Cost-plus when transparency is critical.
→ Frameworks and MSAs when scale and repeatability matter.
