As a data analyst on the Data Research team, I build infrastructure for both existing and upcoming data products, and automate the insights our team relies on daily. 

I create parsers and connect to web3 data sources and other sources to support our editorial and research efforts—using tools like Python, SQL, Dune, Airflow, DBT, BigQuery, and more.

Optimise reindexing process: 
I reduced the duration of this process from 3 days to a few hours. 


Optimise indexing speed: 
I improved this by setting up bulk indexing, which translated into significantly better indexing performance.
The improvement range was from 20 operations per sec to nearly 1800 operations per sec.

Optimise search speed: 
I employed several techniques like querying boolean flags instead of comparing integer values, reducing the number of queried fields. Search latency decreased by 20%. 
I wrote an automated performance test using the Rally performance testing framework to establish a baseline and measure results during all optimisation stages.

Typical problem areas I was working on:

Customers got significant operational cost reductions due to these changes.
I also provided several valuable improvements. One was, for example, using a clear data format. Initially, the date format was: 12.01.2022. This can mean both 1st Dec or 12th Jan. I proposed to change it to 12th Jan 2022, which is clear. Even if it looks like a minor improvement, it is essential that information is shown in a transparent way all over the world.

Typical problematic areas I worked on:
● Issues with authentication and authorisation
