Everyone wants top talent around them.
Until top talent pushes back.

That's when insecurity gets exposed.

Because hiring people smarter than you sounds great in theory. In practice, it demands humility most leaders don't have.

Being the smartest person in every room is nothing to brag about.
It's a bottleneck.

A few things that happen when you build around smart people:

1. It exposes your gaps.
↳ What you can't see is usually what slows you down most.

2. It stops you from micromanaging.
↳ You stop needing all the answers and start making room for better ones.

3. It challenges how you think.
↳ Bad ideas get called out quickly. That's a good thing. A GREAT thing

4. You have to be secure in yourself.
↳ Feeling threatened by smart people is a "you 🫵" problem, not a "them" problem.

Proximity to great people changes you.

It makes you think bigger, move better, and grow faster than you would alone.

The goal was never to be the smartest person in the room.

It was to build a room that makes everyone smarter.

One candle lights another.

Neither flame gets smaller.

That's the thing about helping others succeed: you don't lose out if they win!

We've all seen it. 

People hoard knowledge like it's a limited resource. Guarding their connections. Keeping their "secrets" close.

The people I admire most are the ones passing the torch. 

Introducing people. 
Sharing what they've learned. 
Celebrating wins that aren't their own.

There's enough success to go around.

When you help someone else shine, you're not dimming your own flame. You're lighting up the whole room.

As we head into the weekend, just a reminder: your generosity doesn't weaken you. It multiplies what's possible.

How to move AWAY from ChatGPT to Claude in less than 80 seconds.
Claude's better. Both from a software perspective and a moral one.

Here's how to migrate everything over without starting over:

1. Open Claude settings
↳ Go to capabilities
↳ Find "import memory from other AI providers"

2. Click import and copy the prompt
↳ Claude gives you a specific code to use

3. Paste that prompt into ChatGPT
↳ Wait while it pulls down everything it knows about you
↳ There'll be quite a lot

4. Copy all that output from ChatGPT

5. Paste it back into Claude

6. Scan through before you hit "add to memory"
↳ Remove outdated stuff (I found things from 3 years ago)
↳ Delete anything that's no longer relevant

7. Click "add to memory"

Done.

The whole thing takes about 2 minutes.

I was surprised how much ChatGPT had stored about me. Some of it was useful context. Some of it was ancient history that didn't need to come along.

Quick scan before importing saves you from carrying over dead weight.

PS - here's the Memory Export Prompt for you in case it's easier for you!

Export all of my stored memories and any context you've learned about me from past conversations. Preserve my words verbatim where possible, especially for instructions and preferences.
## Categories (output in this order):
1. **Instructions**: Rules I've explicitly asked you to follow going forward — tone, format, style, "always do X", "never do Y", and corrections to your behavior. Only include rules from stored memories, not from conversations.
2. **Identity**: Name, age, location, education, family, relationships, languages, and personal interests.
3. **Career**: Current and past roles, companies, and general skill areas.
4. **Projects**: Projects I meaningfully built or committed to. Ideally ONE entry per project. Include what it does, current status, and any key decisions. Use the project name or a short descriptor as the first words of the entry.

*inspired by conversations i've heard with John Newton, Tarek Anwar and Robin Jones over the past few months.

I switched from ChatGPT to Claude a month ago. because the software was better. Turns out they are 'better' in unexpected ways too.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, refused to give the Pentagon unlimited access to Claude for mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. This means they can't be used for killing people without getting human permission

Trump got upset by this and banned federal agencies from using their tech. Then OpenAI/ChatGPT's CEO Sam Altman swooped in and signed the deal instead.

ChatGPT DGAF about all the potential killings it seems...

...And honestly It made me realise something.

Initially "better" just meant better software.
→ Cleaner code.
→ Faster outputs.
→ Fewer "em dashes"

Turns out it means a hell of a lot more than that. Dario's move changed the whole game.

He risked BILLIONS to stand up for what he believes in. He drew a line when most CEOs would've just signed the cheque. That's actual leadership. Thats a huge moral compass!

So now, when I think about what makes Anthropic's Claude "better," it's two things:

1️⃣ Better software (faster outputs, cleaner code, fewer "em dashes")
2️⃣ Better morals (a company that stands for something bigger than quarterly earnings)

I didn't expect a tech CEO to make me feel good about using their product for reasons that have nothing to do with performance. But here we are.

Feels weird to say this about AI software, but I'm genuinely proud to use Claude now.

Not just because it works. Because of what the company represents when it actually matters.

↳ Quality with 24-hour spacing beats frequency.
↳ Your audience needs time to engage.

🎯 3. Niche beats viral every time
↳ Relevance to your audience > mass appeal.
↳ 500 engaged followers beat 5,000 passive ones.

📝 4. Long-form is back
↳ 800-1000 word posts rank higher now.
↳ LinkedIn rewards depth and dwell time.

📹 5. Video isn't the golden ticket anymore
↳ Video reach dropped 200% recently.
↳ Dwell time is what the algorithm cares about.

🎨 6. Carousels still work
↳ They perform 1.9x better than standard posts.
↳ Don't abandon them yet.

🔗 7. Links don't kill reach if they add value
↳ Context matters more than format.
↳ Useful links still perform.

🔗 8. Posts don't tend to "pop" in the way they used to
↳ Your posts used to peak and die over 24hrs
↳ No some posts take weeks to plateau

It's trained to detect depth and quality signals.

That's why the algorithm rewards substance, not just frequency.

Depth over frequency.
Proof over performance.
Teaching over entertaining.

Claude code just made me an app developer and I just published my first app on the iOS App Store.
Wild, right?

I make websites - but I can't code well

But I used Anthropic Claude Code and built a working app in a couple of days.

It's called "Kobi's SGS Flag Quiz". A simple quiz to test your knowledge of flags around the world.

Here's what blows my mind:

↳ I built this in a terminal
↳ Took a few days, off and on
↳ Published it to the Apple App Store
↳ Now anyone in the world can download it

Could it look better? Absolutely.

But it's functional. It works. And it's mine(ish)

This is what excites me about where we are right now. Tools like Claude Code are opening doors for people who never thought they could build apps.

I've got a few more in the pipeline. And I'll release a new app or tool every Wednesday.

Android version is coming too. Just waiting on verification (didn't know it takes two weeks, lesson learned).
