The National Gallery

•Providing advice on operational matters for managers and staff
•Continuously reviewing operational processes, ensuring our policies and procedures meet standards of good practice
•Working with the Head of HR on key projects and process areas and undertaking work from start to finish, as required
•Advising and assisting managers with the preparation of job descriptions and person specifications, and taking responsibility for candidate recruitment information
•Support to the Gallery's Department Heads with their contingent workforce needs (from workforce planning, rostering, shift fulfilment, hiring, through to post-termination)
•Support to Department Heads with full casual worker lifecycle (including acting as the primary contact point for Casual Workers between assignments)
•The key point of contact for central engagement and termination of agency workers, ensuring that best value is obtained for any agency worker contract
•To be the Gallery's subject matter expert on all aspects of contingent and temporary workers, ensuring that the Gallery's service needs are met and protecting the Gallery from employment status risk and ensuring that the Gallery meets its legal obligations (e.g. concerning itemised pay, appropriate assignment sheets)
•To provide advice and guidance to other H.R. colleagues regarding worker requirements, ensuring a separation of essential elements from employee provisions

A People practitioner and 'all rounder' with over a decade's experience gained in the UK and abroad. Experience includes full management of the employee cycle, training, employee relations, employee engagement, HRIS  etc. all at operational and strategic level.
