When I started on LinkedIn, I hated writing.

On 21 June 2022,
I wrote my first post.

One intention only: 
Build my writing muscle.

> I committed to a 21-day writing challenge.

No visibility.
No validation.
Just discipline.

On day 22, the challenge ended.

So I asked myself one question:
 
👉 “Give me one reason why you shouldn’t write.”

I found none.
So I kept writing.

I haven’t helped hundreds.
But I’ve helped a few who trusted me.

Why Feedback Works Only When Learners Feel Seen

Feedback is not about red marks or long notes.
 
It is about learners talking and learning together.

Researcher 𝑅𝑢𝑡ℎ 𝐷𝑎𝑛𝑛 (2019) from 𝑈𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑜𝑛 explains this clearly.

She shows that feedback works best 
When teachers help learners move from

 “𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑑𝑜 𝑛𝑜𝑤” 𝑡𝑜 “𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑑𝑜 𝑛𝑒𝑥𝑡.”
 That idea comes from 𝐿𝑒𝑣 𝑉𝑦𝑔𝑜𝑡𝑠𝑘𝑦.

She also builds on 𝐻𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑 & 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚 (1998) & 𝐵𝑎𝑘ℎ𝑡𝑖𝑛 (1986), who remind us that learning grows through:

>Talk
> Listening  and 
> Shared meaning.

After 1,089 classroom observations, I’ve seen this truth:
 
When feedback builds confidence, learning follows.

School leaders:
 
Are your feedback systems helping learners grow, or are they just correcting work?

The Business of Making Learning Happen

• Big budgets
• Smart classrooms
• Qualified teachers
• Beautiful campuses
• Co-curricular choices
• NEP-aligned textbooks
• Technology everywhere

• Uniforms. Shoes.
• Bags. Tiffin boxes.
• Notebooks. Accessories.

> So much investment.

But let me ask a harder question.

Where is the evidence of learning?
A report card?
Grades?

Is that all?

India ranked 72nd out of 74 in PISA (2009) for competency.
 
• The learning crisis is real.
• NEP 2020 says it clearly.
• Other home reports, too.

Teachers are the front-runners.
And their challenge is real.

Yet…
 
1. Who is supporting them inside classrooms?
2. Who is encouraging them during practice?
3. Who is empowering them to do better daily?

One-size-fits-all CPD never worked.
 
Because there’s a big gap between "Know-how" and "Do-how."

If a school isn’t clear about:
• What truly matters in classroom transactions
• What teachers are struggling with
• How to address it safely
• What teachers can practice with confidence

Then improvement remains accidental.

The truth?

Your next Go-To Experts already sit in your staff room.

I hosted the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 - 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.
 
And I 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑡 the shift in the room.

A little more courage.
A little more conviction.
A little more accountability to act.

We read a few pages from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐲 by 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲. 

The idea was simple.
Adversity isn’t the enemy.
It’s an advantage.

But what followed the reading mattered more.

Leaders reflected.
They shared real adversities.
They spoke about how they 𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑤𝑎𝑦.

And something powerful happened.
Courage became collective.
Conviction became contagious.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞-𝐎𝐮𝐭.

58 classroom observations.
 
Zero workshops.
Real teacher growth.

Yesterday, I held my 4th review meeting with a school I’m mentoring.

In this cycle, I conducted 11 classroom observations alongside the school leaders.

They were present.
They observed.
They joined the private feedback conversations.

I also did 2 demo teaching sessions.
Observed teachers watched.
Leaders watched.
 
> Learning happened in real time.

Here’s what moved me most: 👇 

• 23 classroom observations by school leaders

• 35 peer observations by pre-primary and primary teachers

That’s 58 learning touchpoints.
 
No activities.
No noise.
 
Just practice, reflection, and growth.

This is what happens when observation becomes a culture, not an event.
 When leaders learn with teachers.
When feedback feels safe.

And this is only the beginning.

And the ASK stayed simple:
• Read min. 2 pages or 10 minutes
• Read min. 4 days a week

Minimum is non-negotiable.
Maximum is always a choice.

In our live session:
One leader reads aloud.
Others listen.
 
Then we reflect
From life, not theory.

This Sunday, Akash Singh led the reading.
From 𝐍𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 by 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲.

The real power?
 
The discussion.
The lived stories.
The honesty.
