Joe O’Connor is the CEO and co-founder of Work Time Revolution, a global consulting, advisory and research firm that specializes in redesigning work models for the age of AI. 

He is a strategic advisor and keynote speaker on human-centered AI adoption, work redesign and sustainable performance, and an influential voice on the future of work. 

He is the co-author of DO MORE IN FOUR: Why It's Time For A Shorter Workweek, which will be published by Harvard Business Review Press in January 2026. 

His work focuses on building new models of work that reduce overwork, support employee wellbeing, and drive organizational effectiveness. He helps organizations and teams move beyond outdated systems toward agile, outcome-focused cultures that promote focus, reduce “busywork”, and align work with the realities of modern life.

He believes time is the foundational resource for transformation. His mission is to create a world of better work and balanced lives, where we achieve more while working less.

He previously served as CEO of 4 Day Week Global, where he designed and led the world’s largest and most influential shorter workweek trials, supporting hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of employees across the US, Canada, UK, EU, and Australasia to reduce hours without sacrificing performance.

Prior to this, he pioneered the world’s first coordinated private sector four-day week pilot in Ireland and co-designed its research framework in collaboration with Boston College and University College Dublin. He has also served as a visiting research scholar with Cornell University, where he led a research project on work time reduction.

His perspective draws from more than a decade of leadership experience across purpose-driven organizations, think tanks, and labor movements. Joe combines academic depth with real-world expertise, bridging research and action to help shape what’s next in how we work.

Now based in Toronto, Joe also serves as Director of the Canadian division of Curium Solutions, bringing their award-winning transformation, change management, and leadership development programs to Canadian clients. He is also a Principal Contributor with Splendid Torch, a new collective which helps principled leaders build adaptive organizations for an unstable world.

Joe holds an MBS in Strategy and Innovation Management, a BBS (Hons) in Accounting, and an Advanced Diploma in Employment Law. He is a frequent media contributor on work time innovation, productivity, and workplace wellbeing.
