As a Career Coach at General Assembly, in the span of a year, I worked with over 150 career transitioning students from a wide array of backgrounds and levels of experiences all looking to make a life-changing pivot into the ever-evolving tech space. From the well-tenured, career-established professional to the fresh college and high school graduate, the veteran to the immigrant, the freelancer to entrepreneur…I put forth my best effort in bringing my experience from recruiting to the career coaching/development space to successfully help these job-seekers land jobs in the fields of Software Development, UX Design, and Data Science/Analytics.

Highlights of my experience at GA include:
* Establishing myself as a top-performing coach in terms of successfully helping job-seekers land new jobs on a region-based team of 6 other coaches.
* Building and teaching a 12 and 24-week Outcomes curriculum as part of the cohort experience for full and part-time immersive programs.
* Serving as a thought leader in GA’s alumni program offerings, consistently organizing, leading, and facilitating panel discussions with industry experts in UX and software engineering.

Social Media Specialist

Some journeys are pretty straightforward. Some look like the squiggly lines drawn all over walls at the house by a child (assumed, not speaking from direct experience 👀).

I pivoted into talent acquisition 5 years ago after previously spending 6 years in the corporate, startup, and nonprofit spaces in customer service, project management, and early talent development. I also coached boxing and fitness on the side because of my passion for sports and athletics. What I realized over the course of that part of my journey was that I was my best self when I was helping others grow.

It was through this personal evolution that I made another pivot and now currently translate my recruiting experience into my work as a career coach. (Read: my service to others now is as an advisor and coach in the career development space, bridging my experience in talent acquisition with my passion for mentorship.) The workforce has been adapting and changing in the wake of the Covid pandemic. We are in such a pivotal moment of humanity and the coming of age of a new generation, and if I can use my life and professional experience to provide support and guidance to those navigating a quickly changing job market and evolving world…then I know my internal compass is spot on.
