I am returning to my my Level 6 New Zealand Diploma in Business Studies working towards achieving a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies. I did my Level 5 Waiariki Diploma in Business Studies last year and pass all six compulsory papers. I enjoy the challenge and as they say we are never to old to return to school to further our education. My wonderful husband is a great support beside me encouraging me to achieve the best. Also my children and grandchildren nare all wonderful support for me.

With this Council is truly great because you get to meet other ethnic cultures and community organisations within Rotorua and it opens new doors to other opportunities. For example for being able to do my Speech New Zealand Introductory Certificate and presently just passed my Advanced Speech NZ Certificate December 2014 and passed with DISTINCTION and this group is a great opportunity to meet other people from other Ethnic Cultures and learn to work together as one and help one another. Now I'm looking at doing my Diploma for Speech NZ Dr  Margriet Theron is a fantastic Tutor and I am very thankful to Dr Margriet Theron.

I am affiliated to Ngati Rangiwewehi Wataha Tapauika, Te Arawa and Mataatua. and even down to Taranaki on Paraninihi Ki Waitotara Trust  I have excellent passion and 1st hand experience of doing Marae building projects and challenges for Whanau . I have dealt with Government departments, consultants and trades people.  My insights and compassion is for the Maori people to support and awhi one another are a treasonable asset in each project and the outcomes.

I have a great team to work with Ngairo Heretaunga.  Who is associated with apa as one of key consultant in facilitating the cultural,in depth understanding to all Project design, and  history, within the different Marae Projects.   

I also enjoy working with Aladina Harunani - who is the Founder and Principal of apa Architects and Project Manager and Registered Architect BArch (Hons), ME Mgt (Project Management), ANZIA, NZ Green Star Accredited Professional, Registered Architect.  Councillor NZIA.
He’has great connection with  Maori, born in Kenya, studied  Auckland University ,scholarship 1989.  Passion for marae work derived from participation in his youth Whanau project, raising funds,  Kenya. Regiistered Architect since 1997 with valid licence number 2648 on the NZ Register Architects Board.  He Completed Project Management Modules, Masters Engineering Management Degree from Auckland University.   19 years been working on public projects.  Last 4.5 years as a Project Lead of a very large organisation in New Zealand, led building teams in Hamilton, Bay of Plenty to deliver Marae, other sector projects .I am learning alot from our Team Leader, Project Manager. In this job I did alot of Office Management, Maintaining files and accounts in files and on computer. Maintained Staff wages and ensuring their files were kept update. Liaise with suppliers and government agencies when applicable. I was always punctual and always available to share with the staff when needed. Did Human Resource and communications with employees and suppliers and government agencies. Believed in great Team Work to ensure everything is maintained and presented a happy and safe environment for all. I really enjoyed this role and soon will be finishing on the 8th of March 2013  due to downsizing of the company and now looking for further employment have to keep going.

I was a trustee and secretary for 23 years of service. I did alot of different jobs with the Trust. I have a great knowledge of the Trusts history how we sttarted and how today the trust is in a very stable position due to hard teamwork and co operation from the trustees and Owners. Had a great repore with the Owners / Shareholders of the Trust. Gained alot of skills and attributes from being with the Trust and met alot people from all walks of life. A great experience.

I was involved for over 22 years and I have seen a lot of staff come and go. saw all the changes and was involved with the merge with Seeka. I have seen all the developments of the packhouse to where it is today 2012.

I was a qualified First Aider, Quality Controller working with teams and monitoring quality of kiwifruit before exporting product overseas, I was involved with the ECPI Department meaning Export Consignment Product Inspection Team. Worked with many cultures from here in New Zealand and overseas seasonal workers. Even learnt some of the their languages in order to have a better working relationship with one another. Even became to be known as Packhouse to these people from overseas.

In this job I did many jobs, amongs the community, I was a health Co-ordinator working with whanau and kaumatua the elderly doing health checks for blood pressure and sugar diabetes as I had a St. John background for 17 years. This is why I was able to do this for our people and the wider community. I did counselling with whanau and elderly but never received training to be a qualified counsellor. Did secretarial work and achieved wonderful skills from this and also did whanau advocacy with government agencies and helping them to help themselves as an overall I did alot of fields of work working in this Iwi organisation.
