Makerspaces in the early years:
Enhancing digital literacy and creativity (MakEY)

This project explores the place of the rising ‘maker’ culture in the development of children’s digital literacy and creative design skills. Research projects will be undertaken in seven EU countries (Denmark, Germany, Finland, Iceland, Norway Romania, UK) and the USA in which staff working in makerspaces (including Fab Labs) will collaborate with academics to identify the benefits and challenges of running makerspace workshops in both formal (nurseries and schools) and informal (museums and libraries) educational settings. The research team will work in partnership with academics in Australia, Canada, Colombia, South Africa and the USA, creating a global network of scholars who will work together to further understanding of the role of makerspaces in developing young children’s digital literacy and creativity.

Casa de La Ciudad

Giving one week Urban Interactive Narrative workshops to architecture students from different universities of Oaxaca as a part of urban seminars, organised by Casa de La Ciudad. Final work with students resulted in audio interactive installation using RFID technology. It was presented in an open conference and then put into a public critique.

Researched market trends, creating mood boards, product concepts, rendering product visualizations, preparing presentations. Worked directly with manufacturer in China for mass production orders.

Products were shown in The Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk Xpo, IMM Cologne International Interior Show, Maison&Objet in Paris.

Young Creators Grant of Bialystok City Office

Created concept of a musical interface to reveal broader and deeper sense of listening. Produced a working prototype, using CNC milling and plywood bending technique for the membrane combined with 4 sound actuators. 

Interface can be connected with a contact microphone to an instrument, like a drum, or to a music player. Project defines new musical communication between receiver and performer. It refers to the tactile aesthetic composition. Both roles (listener and performer) can easily be taken by deaf or hearing-impaired individuals, as to reveal a broader and deeper sense of listening. 

Mórimo took a part in Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, International Computer Music Conference – Non Cochlear Sound in Ljubljana, Culture 2.0 Festival in Warsaw. Prototype serves as an aid for hearing-impaired children theraphy.

🌍 Entrepreneurial Ventures:
As the co-founder of Vai Kai, a Berlin-based EdTech startup, I served as the Chief Design Officer, leading the design and development of our flagship product – intelligent, interactive wooden dolls. These dolls were designed in collaboration with experts to support children's cognitive and emotional capacities during early childhood.
