I find myself slipping back into using the word.

👉🏻 Busy.

And I don’t like it.

It sounds productive, but it rarely means purposeful.

For me, it usually means distracted, scattered, or stretched thin. I’m doing a lot, but not always doing what matters most.

Some of my best decisions and clearest ideas have come when I slowed down long enough to think, rest, or listen.

Busy feels active. And I like that feeling. And honestly I like a full calendar.

But I don’t want to be known for how much I do.
 
I want to be known for what and who I give attention to.

Let’s talk about confidence.

I’ve had a complicated relationship with it. Literally all my life.

Sometimes I feel confident in my head, but it never makes it out. Other times I talk myself out of speaking up because I don’t want to sound arrogant.

When I’m around other confident or maybe just loud voices, I tend to go quiet.
 👉🏻 Part of that is not wanting to compete for airtime.
 👉🏻 Part of it is getting self-conscious.

I have to remind myself that I do know a thing or two. And I have to practice showing it.

Not to prove something.
 
But to contribute something.
