Currently, I lead the Kernel team at Agoric, where I manage a group of talented engineers focused on core distributed system functionalities. My role involves strategic planning, promoting innovation, and ensuring our technology aligns with the latest industry standards and practices. This position has enhanced my leadership skills and deepened my technical expertise, allowing me to contribute significantly to our company's growth and success.

With a robust background in computer science and extensive experience at tech giants like Meta, Microsoft, Airbnb, and VMware, I am passionate about leveraging technology to enhance education and bridge the skills gap. As the founder of Algolab, I've developed cohort-based courses that have enabled engineers to thrive in their careers. My hands-on role in teaching and course development has deepened my understanding of student needs and the dynamics of effective learning environments.

As an Engineering Manager, I prioritize a human-first approach to leadership. I am dedicated to fostering a team culture that champions innovation, ownership, and a commitment to excellence. My goal is to build strong, supportive teams that are well-equipped to drive progress and adapt to the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

I am grateful for the opportunity to mentor and guide aspiring tech professionals and remain committed to continuous learning and improvement, both for myself and my teams. In my downtime, I explore emerging technologies and write about innovative ways to make tech education more accessible and engaging. I also run an IRL robotics club for girls and building a team to compete in FTC robotics competition.

•	Responsibilities were accessioning various specimen types received in the lab and preparing them for processing and preparing specimen for off site testing. 
•	Maintained and updated Microsoft teams groups and all documents and spreadsheets.
•	Answering telephones, triaging calls, and redirecting inquiries to the appropriate department as necessary.
•	Responsible for the ordering and stocking of supplies for the Pathology Grossing Room. 
•	For the COVID Testing Center, scheduled appointments for testing and vaccinations, provided coverage in the Test Center for check-in, specimen flow, and specimen transport as needed. 
•	Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, EPIC, CoPath, and Microsoft Teams.

Other duties included processing and preparing specimens for transport to other laboratories, answering and triaging phone calls, and reporting abnormal results to physicians. 

Additional administrative assistant duties included providing coverage for the reception desk for Surgical Pathology and the Assistant to the Director, preparing materials for daily conferences, organizing the file storage room, and coordinating and executing mass mailings. 
Provided customer service to patients, families and physicians.

Assisted Senior Supervisor with major revisions to the Standard Operating Procedure manuals for 7 departments in Anatomic Pathology. 

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Powerpath, PCIS, Meditech and Epic programs.

Seeking remote or hybrid (local to Burlington, MA) positions in Java Software Development.

The world is changing at a record pace. New technologies are emerging every day, and these technologies are going to change the world as we know it. 

With that in mind, and after some serious soul-searching, I am embarking on a new career path in Information Technology. I have truly enjoyed learning Information Technology at UMASS - Lowell and can't wait to break into the tech realm. Learning how to program in several languages (Java, C, Python) and seeing how programs interact from the backend side of software development versus being an end-user has been a life-changing experience!

The reason for this change? I have worked in healthcare (with some time spent in veterinary care) for quite some time. As you can imagine, I want to help people (it's in my DNA...). My mission now is to do that by helping to create software that can reach hundreds of thousands of people...maybe even millions of people! 

If there is one thing I've learned in my time in laboratory operations, everything I do has an impact on people's lives. My goal now is to do it on a much larger scale. 

Pretty ambitious, isn't it? =)
