While serving as the Head of Marketing for Kontakt.io's huge growth year of 2015, I was also asked to serve as interim head of product to help solve problems with the team's ability to ship new products; they'd launched the Cloud Beacon and the Tough Beacon in 2015 and had not had another key product launch since. Taking over in July 2015, I served as Head of Product alongside being Head of Marketing until, in December 2015, I concentrated solely on the Product role.

Key achievements:
* Increased key launch velocity over 600%, launching a key product every month in January - June 2016
* Built 1 and 2 year product roadmaps and achieved 80% win rate on hitting target release dates.
* Created cross-functional scrum teams that aligned the whole company (engineering, software, marketing, and sales) around product and gave the entire company complete knowledge of our roadmap.

I joined Kontakt.io in a newly-created role of Head of Marketing, and built up the marketing team there from scratch to a group of 7 high-achievers. While I was Head of Marketing, the marketing team was instrumental in: seeing the company through a landmark year of growth, securing a series B round of funding, and establishing a strong company brand and story.

Key achievements in 2015:
* Grew lead captures from 100 a month to over 1,000 a month through content marketing and SEO
* Launched 9 events in 7 cities in 6 months, driving 20% of the company's volume of units sold in 2015 for under $75,000 in event marketing budget.
* Oversaw growth of company sales volume to #1 in the market, an achievement that ABI Research noted and found a "surprising" achievement, with 500,000 units sold in 2015.

I joined GOG.com when in the newly-created head of Marketing & PR role when it was a scrappy startup and I was the 16th employee. When I left, they had over 70 employees, were #1 in the classic gaming market segment with over 75% of the market, and had increased revenues over 1,000% from 2010 to 2014. 

Key achievements:
* Grew user base from 250,000 to over 4 million in 4 years; MAUs from 1,000 to over 10,000.
* Organized award-winning tradeshow at PAX; also organized profitable events at E3, Gamescom, GDC and others.
* Front page of Reddit 9 times; front page placement in key trade media at least once a quarter; organic site traffic from social and press sources increased 430% in 4 years. 
* Successfully repositioned brand from niche classic games distributor to leading independent games distributor with ~50% market share on indie games.

Webspectator offered a real-time messaging network capable of building bi-directional connections between the server and the client.

This technology was used to build the first ad viewability solution, approved by MRC to measure and deliver ads based on time spent.

I was responsible for setting up our DSP relationships, as well as working with ad agencies and publishers.

As Chief Revenue Officer I helped the company reach 6 million dollars in revenue in two years.

I helped set up our relationship with Google's Doubleclick division that helped us build our RTB platform.

Managed relationships with major ad agencies like GumGum, Deutsch, Chiat\Day, engage:BDR and publishers like TMZ, NYTimes Tennis Channel, and Mountain Bike review.

iVisit was a subsidiary of IPPlex and the developer of the first pee-peer unified communication solution.

I joined the company to help the founder successfully raise financing from my network.

In my short time there as business development manager, I helped introduce iVisit to the management at Verizon.

iVisit was developing the first mobile multi-user video communication solution on 2G networks and working on computer vision-type applications.

IPPLEX was sold to Nantworks in 2010 and continued as part of the Nantworks ecosystem.

The vision behind Optimal Access was simple!

The idea for Optimal Access came out of a need for managing IT resources.

Optimal Desktop had over 500K users, was featured in Laptop magazine, bundled with Toshiba laptops, and was used by IT professionals and major corporations.

Our current tools and vision for our company are built on the successes we had with our initial launch.

If I have seen further than others, it is upon standing on the shoulder of giants!

In my Toastmasters group, I am known as the resident philosopher.

Likely because I studied philosophy and humanities with a master educator and philosopher, Roger Weir for 15 years in Los Angeles.

Much of what I do today, is inspired by my philosophical education and a passion for empowering people to share what they know with others!

Roger based his education on the knowledge acquired from the greatest minds in the history of mankind and presented every Saturday at 10 am in the tradition of ancient Greek philosophers.

He used his personal library, which at that time we met was around 40 thousand books as reference for his lectures.

Once I asked him if he had read all the books in his library and he said he can index them all!

My solutions are designed to let people curate, index, and share their research in context!

I chose the name Optimal Access for my company because optimal access to information is a moving target. Our vision is to make it easy for anyone to build optimal access to curated research.

I am an avid user of my own tools because I believe we must build things we want to use ourselves.

Over the years I have worked and marketed our products to a diverse group of information workers.

Our Optimal Desktop solution built on the same philosophy in our first incarnation had hundreds of thousands of users, an active community of over 12K people, and major corporate clients.

Today, with an explosion of content and fragmented tools, our vision of curation is needed more than ever!
