I wanted to share something that's been on my mind. 

I put this photo up for a few reasons. 

★ First, I needed a good post for the end of the week to politely nudge you to pause and think for a moment. 

★ Second, when I was younger, I looked a lot like Keanu Reeves (in my mind lol). Unfortunately, he is taller and a little more handsome. But I believe we both share the same fighting spirit. So, close enough 🤷🏽. 

★ Third, no matter how good or bad life gets, I always try to be real, even if it's not the popular thing to do. 

★ And fourth, I really like you to take a moment and use that humble side we all possess to be thankful for what you have and what you've accomplished over the last few weeks, and what we all have to look forward to. 

Even if they are small things, they are definitely worth being thankful for.


Let me start by sharing some wins from the past few weeks:

✨ Personal Well-being: 
My daughter is healthy and happy. That’s always the number one priority.

✅ Life's Flow: 
I’m experiencing very little drama, which is a blessing. My bills are covered, and that brings a lot of peace of mind.

🚀 Business Pipeline: 
We have 5 different prospects who need either consulting on LinkedIn sales systems or CRM development. Chances are high that at least one of them will convert into a client! Also, a current client just recommended me to 3 other potential clients. That was really nice. Thanks, Ryan Seifert!

🤝 Integration Milestone: 
We've secured our first integration partner with our SaaS product, Skoop - Instant Video, with FieldBuilt CRM. The mention of the association with SKOOP video capabilities has already opened new doors for them.

📈 User Growth: 
SKOOP now has approximately 300 active users, with exciting new power-user features rolling out early next week.

Now, I'm not exactly rolling in dough. I’ve got a 16-year-old car that I just had to fix, and we live in a modest but still nice place. I’m not currently making enough to even go on dates. On top of that, my daughter really wants a mom.

And, you know what? I'm thankful for all of it.

Thanksgiving as I see it is about family, time for reflection, gratitude, and in many ways, a chance to consciously separate work from our personal lives. 

I know, I know, we often blend the two – it's practically a lifestyle for many of us in the entrepreneurial space! 

I mean, I even wear the same Adidas style clothes. But that is because it's still cool! 😎

But when you really understand why we do it, it almost always comes down to family and the drive to support others.

This year, it's just my daughter and me, and that is more than okay.

 It's a genuine blessing. 

🧒🏻 She's doing wonderfully, bills are covered, our ⚙️ software SKOOP is growing, we're forging new 🤝 partnerships, 🧾 system project proposals are being sent out, and 🙋🏻‍♂️ clients are converting right here on LinkedIn.

The fastest way to achieve any monumental goal is to find a pack or a group that's already doing what you want to achieve. 

This goes for B2B services as well as SaaS products. 

Although my main business is creating sales and relationship systems for B2Bs and service based professionals (coaches, consultants, sales etc...), when I founded Skoop - Instant Video, trying to scale that solo feels like hand-to-hand combat. 

Although our SaaS is a tool for our main consulting business - it is in fact an entirely different business modle in itself.  As selling low cost software tools you need volume. 

😅 My SaaS product, SKOOP, and it is still in the early days. The one-on-one onboarding calls is absolutely crushing me (although I still do that as it can lead to partnerships). But it is just meeting after meeting (for now), diving into the nitty-gritty details.

At $47 a month, some people would question the cost. But I'd always flip it back to them: "How much is one client worth to you?" Especially when our tool can boost conversion rates about six times better. That's the kind of ROI that makes even a small monthly fee disappear. 💥

The fastest way I've discovered to hit those monumental goals? 

Again, find a pack, a group that's already doing what you want to achieve. 

This was a massive lesson for me. By connecting with other small yet growing SaaS products for integration (I had what they were missing mentality) and resellers partners those right people understood out journey. 

Working in this way allows us to see the direct path forward for SKOOP. It wasn't about reinventing the wheel, but about learning from those who had already mastered the road. 🚀

This is why I'm so passionate about sharing actionable strategies and insights. We're always looking for ways to maximize conversion and streamline growth. It's about the  smarter, not just harder working route (when possible).


Here’s what I’ve learned from seeking out those who’ve walked the path before:

Ever run into a snag with your browser video or mic permissions when trying to use a new tool? I've been there! 😅  

It's a common hurdle, especially when you're diving into video capabilities. That's why I put together a quick tutorial for SKOOP, focusing on something many find tricky: getting your Chrome browser to grant microphone and camera permissions.

🤔 What's SKOOP and why do I want to use it?

Great question. SKOOP is a video sales and relationship tool. It allows you to hyperpersonalize conversations with short, candid video, text, voice notes or animated GIFs. 

And if done correctly, can easily 6X your conversation rate from a single LinkedIn message to a vetted booked meeting.

Here’s the breakdown to get you up and running smoothly:

Any application that needs to use your mic or camera, like video editing tools or communication apps, will need your browser's permission. This is a standard security step.

🚀 Initial Setup
When you first open Skoop - Instant Video, you’ll typically be prompted to grant these permissions. The key here is to select "While visiting the website" or the equivalent option. This ensures SKOOP has access specifically for its intended use.


💥 Troubleshooting Steps
If you're still facing issues after the initial setup, don't worry!

*   Reinstall SKOOP: 
Sometimes a simple uninstall and reinstall can resolve permission glitches.

*   Check Chrome Privacy Settings: 
This is where you can get more granular. Navigate to Chrome's privacy settings, then go to "Privacy and security," and look for "Site settings."

*   Grant Specific Permissions: 
Within "Site settings," you can find SKOOP and then "View permissions and data stored across sites." Here, you'll have direct options to enable or disable permissions for video and sound.

It’s all about making sure your tools work seamlessly so you can focus on what matters – connecting and creating!

Just wrapped up a little Thanksgiving with my partner in crime, Alyeska (my daughter, and we don't do any crimes). 

We kept it simple – some ham, chicken, mac and cheese, and fresh green beans with a great sauce.

The 90-Day LinkedIn Client Acquistion Program Guide

Why we built a business software tool for LinkedIn first.

As a Linkedin business consultant, I simply saw a gap in the market on this platform specfically. On LinkedIn there are 2 main areas for doing busienss for consultants and B2Bs. 

That is the DMs (LinkedIn Direct Messages) and the content (ie. posts).

The DMs, for the most part stopped converting. 

So at one time, they converted really well, and then everyone used automation, like you said, automation or something, and they were just selling, selling, selling, and it became very saturated. 

And so there was an opportunity to personalize (or even better hyper-personalize). 💪🏼

We perviously created a server system that sent videos. It was very similar to the LinkedIn phone app and it sent out baked video. Baked video is like one video for everything through automation, and it worked a lot better. 

Then we looked at it for personalization and said, you know what, it would be great to have a tool right on top of your browser. That I can do a video, click a button, boom, send it, and also be great to store and have instant access to the predetermined most common message replies (that way we can start with the subject and make changes thus saving time and adding clarity).

💡 Personalization is the key to build relationships in today's saturated market. 

Finding ways to stand out and connect on a more human level can make all the difference.

His team recently hit 500k ARR feels like a massive milestone, but the journey from thousands of 1:1 onboarding calls to obsessing over analytics has been a wild ride. 🚀

Kondo passed 500k ARR last month 📈

What has and has not changed since launch a year ago:

1. Early on, you had to do a 1:1 onboarding call to get access. I've done 1000s. It's still an option, but most self-serve. Don't do free trials anymore, so that leaves 10-15 calls / week with folks serious about our product.

2. Back then, we tracked activation by booking a follow-up call with users 1 month after signup. With ~100 weekly signups and ~1,500 customers, that's no longer realistic. So we've beefed up a lot on ANALYTICS and I now obsess over numbers like every proper PLG founder should (was slow to learn this 🫣)

3.  First 50 users came from outbound. Next 100 inbound from word of mouth. The next 1000 the same way. That's GREAT, but also a PROBLEM. We've tested a bunch of outbound and paid channels over the past few months, but still haven't cracked a scalable growth engine yet. Fingers crossed.

4. We grew our headcount from 2 → 3 by hiring Anastasia as our first employee. One of two best decisions I will ever make in life. Also brought on Gaurav as an advisor. Two of two. 

5. Still no plans to sell away chunks of the company to VCs. Not running a 🦄farm here. Trying to grow fast but profitably has been a great lesson because every $ we spend on something could be $ in our personal bank accounts (!!) so it better get us $ back fast (!!!). 

6. A year ago I would actively hunt for posts saying "LinkedIn's inbox is SOOO BAD HOW DOES ANYONE FIND ANYTHING IN IT." I don't do that anymore because folks now tag me on posts like that (thank you, friends 🙇‍♂️) so I just see where I'm tagged and run to the post and holler "Yo, I fixed it → trykondo.com" 

7. LinkedIn can still build a Kondo overnight with <10% of the resources they spent on Zip or Mini Sudoku but still has not. So, I am still here helooo 👋

8. Every time I read other startup founders' posts that start with "we hit 10m ARR in 3 months" I still feel sad because I realize I'm missing a few zeros : (

Setting your DMARC policy to "Quarantine" or "Reject" shows the mailbox providers you are serious about protecting your email from phishing and spoofing attacks.

Sender IP - Two types: Shared IPs & Dedicated IPs. Sender IPs are the location from which your emails are sent, and play a big role in where mailbox providers place your emails. If your Sender IP Reputation is high, you will have good email deliverability. If it is poor, your emails are most likely to end up in spam or blocked. The quality of the Sender IPs you are assigned is the luck of the draw. ESPs are unlikely to change them, once they are assigned. If you are sending a high volume of emails, and following best email practices, we advise purchasing a Dedicated IP.

Domain Reputation - Similar to the IP address, the sending domain carries a reputation that affects deliverability. To protect your mail domain, we advise setting up subdomains for different email functions. For example, support.store.com for customer service requests and transactional emails, info.store.com for marketing emails. This way if your subdomain for marketing emails gets compromised (low engagement, spam complaints, etc.) it will not affect your transactional emails.

Periodically run your Sender IPs and Sender Domain through a blacklist checker, such as MX Toolbox, to make sure that they are not flagged for spam or other complaints that would lead to blacklisting.

The most common email deliverability questions we answer in regard to email engagement and list segmentation.

Sender History - Your email history plays a role in where your emails will be placed. How your subscribers have engaged with your emails. If your Domain and Sender IPs have been on any Blacklists. If you have a history of Spam Complaints. The age of your Domain.

Engagement - Mailbox providers' algorithms track the user engagement of your emails. If subscribers don't open your emails, or repeatedly delete your emails without opening them, that may cause the mailbox provider to filter your emails into a subfolder. Excessive complaints and unsubscribes could cause the mailbox provider from accepting any emails from your company. High email engagement (such as users opening, clicking, and replying) positively impact email deliverability.

Email Volume - The lower your email volume, the less recourses are required by the mailbox providers to process your emails. The mailbox providers are more likely to treat your emails favorably, resulting in high email deliverability.

Email Regularly - Have a regular schedule for sending emails to your list. This is especially important if you mainly send email blasts. Ideally, send emails on a regular day and time. The best days and times to send it are Tues 9:00-11:00 AM, and then Thurs. 9:00-11:00 AM.

List Segmentation - Use email automation to segment your list and send emails based on subscriber behavior. Doing this will increase subscriber engagement. As well, send emails out in much smaller batches, which puts less strain on the mailbox provider's resources, resulting in higher email deliverability.

The most common email deliverability questions we answer in regard to why emails go into spam because of email copy/content.

List Quality - Add subscribers to your list that want to hear from you. Use double opt-in vs. single opt-in. Move unengaged subscribers to a re-engagement list after 60 days, and remove them after 120 days.

Content - Spammy/salesy copy is more likely to get your emails placed in the promotional folder than the spam folder. But today, email code is more closely scrutinized. Mailbox providers want to see clean code in your emails. Avoid potentially malicious code, such as <embed> tags or JavaScript. Ensure the code from any third-party apps you are using has clean code. Check the domain reputation of any links in your body copy. Do not use link shorteners.

Bounces and Spam Traps - Verify all emails before you start emailing them to ensure there aren't any spam traps. Remove emails that frequently bounce.

Spam Complaints - Keep your spam complaints low (under 0.1%). If you make it difficult for subscribers to unsubscribe, they will mark your email as spam. Place your unsubscribe link(s) in places that are easy to see. Remove inactive subscribers from your main list after 60 days of inactivity. Subscribe to Google Postmaster Tools. 

Using All CAP (subject line or body copy) - Using all CAPs or excessive punctuation in the subject line or body of your emails raises a red flag and can get your emails placed in the promotional folder (at best) or the spam folder (at worst), and possibly blocked.

Subject Lines - 47% of email recipients open their emails solely based on the subject line alone, while 69% of recipients report spam emails based on the subject line. (Source: Grammarly)
