We were doing well & it all crashed. For the most part, the large companies stopped using agencies & brought projects in-house

✨ It’s Friday, and I’ve been reflecting on how we can all get out there and really chase those passions and dreams. 

As a single dad, I know firsthand that timing can be a serious hurdle. 

Sometimes it feels like I'm juggling flaming torches while trying to build a rocket! 🚀

 But you know what? It’s worth the effort.

A few weeks back, I hit up a super interesting event, and the vibes were just incredible. It really reminded me why putting yourself out there is so important. 

I’m talking about the ICC of Nevada – International Chamber of Commerce. 

Seriously, their site is https://iccofnevada.org/.

I drove out to this industrial complex, and get this, the venue had a limo ride to get to the place! 🤩 

Honestly, it was pretty swanky, and I loved it! 

Met some genuinely interesting people too. 

And one guy that was speaking, reminded me of an older Tony Starks! 

I couldn't stay long, but it lit a fire under me. I’m definitely planning to join more events like this and get back into the groove of making things happen.

So, whether it’s the weekend or during the week, when you have a moment, just do it. 

Get out there and make it happen! 

Success rarely happens overnight, right? It takes that blend of practice, dedication, and, of course, passion. ⭐

And don’t get me wrong I really, really enjoy my LinkedIn business training of sales teams, and entrepreneurs. There’s some great passion in there.

But, speaking of passion, our new SKOOP software version is coming out SOON! 🎉 

Growing this SaaS product has been a challenge, but it’s also been a total passion project. And, get this, it converts here on LinkedIn by 600% compared to text alone.

Are people just getting dumber? 

I know it sounds mean. Yeah, it is mean. I said it. 

But LinkedIn is a professional environment, and I have seen, as of late, many more people having a lack of ability to comprehend the simplest of communications. 

I will give you a specific example. 

🤔 I send out a few lines of text (so they get context) and a welcome video when people connect with me on LinkedIn, right? 

It's a little thing, but it seriously converts well via the use of our software. And it works because you are taking the time to do this for them.   

Helps us get a 6x conversion rate from these personalized intros. 

Pretty sweet deal! 🚀 But here’s the kicker… I got a reply the other day saying, 

“I didn’t ask for this.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seriously?! They connected with me, and then got a friendly welcome message, and their response was… that. 

It got me thinking, are people just so bombarded with messages these days that they’re not even processing what’s coming in? 

Or is something else going on? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean, I try to keep my videos short, personal, and to the point. It’s not a sales pitch, it’s just a genuine “hey, glad to have you in my network!” kind of vibe. 

The fact that someone would connect and then react negatively to a simple, human interaction feels… off. 

It makes me wonder about the state of communication these days. 🤯


👍🏼 But what it does that is really good is it eliminates that person from my network (because is delete them). 

In other words, they have shown that they have a comprehension problem and are not my kind of people. So I don't have to waste my time.

So, what’s your take on this (and of course it does not happen that often, but thought it was a good share)?

✨ Are we drowning in information, making it impossible to appreciate genuine connection attempts?

✨ Or are we seeing a broader decline in basic communication skills where people can't even comprehend a simple, friendly gesture?


 It feels like trying to explain to someone how to drive a car after they’ve already crashed it because they are mad at the car for not knowing how to drive LOL. 🚗💥 

It just… doesn’t compute for me. 🤷🏻

It makes me feel like there’s a fundamental problem with how we’re communicating and processing information. 

It’s a big pet peeve of mine, for sure.

I've learned a powerful lesson in business: you often get exactly what you pay for. 

And when an "expert" seems too good to be true, priced way too low, it's time to dig a little deeper. 

Check their offer, look at their actual clients, were they recomneded and definitely scrutinize their LinkedIn profile. 🤔

Last year, I made a tough but necessary decision to let go of some clients who were paying around $1K/month.

Creating more engaging emails and posts. The breakdown is explained in the video, but the idea for this post came from a question in a previous comment.

Sometimes the best content comes from the most unexpected places – like a question from a follower! ✨ 

Recently, I posted something, and within an hour, a great question popped up that got me thinking.

Here’s how that question led to a whole new piece of content:

It's about showing up consistently, offering value, and being a real human being, not just another profile in the feed. ✨

Here's how I've been shifting my focus, and it's made a HUGE difference:

▶️ Shift from "Reach" to "Relationship": Instead of obsessing over how many eyeballs are on a post, I'm asking, "How many actual conversations did this spark?" Even a few genuine interactions are worth more than thousands of passive views. ✅

▶️ Personalize Your Outreach: Generic messages get ignored. Period. Sending a quick, personalized video or a thoughtful message that references something specific about them? That’s how you stand out. It shows you've actually taken the time. 🚀 (Remember the "sandwich method" we talked about? Text/video/text? Still a winner! 🥪)

▶️ Be Generous with Value: Share what you know, offer help, and be a resource. People will remember those who helped them without asking for anything in return. That's how you build goodwill. ⭐

▶️ Engage Authentically: When someone comments on your post, don't just "like" it. Respond thoughtfully. Ask follow-up questions. Show you're actually listening. It’s the small, consistent efforts that build strong bonds. 🤟🏼

This isn't about chasing vanity metrics anymore. It's about building a community, fostering trust, and creating a network of people who genuinely want to engage with you and what you do. That’s the secret sauce! 😉

This is where creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) becomes a an absolue foundation with trying to stabilize and grow your business. 

My approach has been to simplify these explanations using a blend of video and text. Think of it as a digital playbook that anyone can follow. ✅


Here's how I structure our SOPs for maximum clarity and adaptability:

★ Video Demonstrations: 
Short, focused videos showing exactly how to perform a task. These are invaluable for visual learners and quickly conveying complex actions.

★ Textual Explanations: 
Complementary written guides that break down the steps, add context, and highlight key considerations.

★ Editable Documents: 
We house all of this within Google Docs, making it incredibly easy for anyone on the team to update, refine, and contribute as processes evolve. This collaborative approach ensures our SOPs stay relevant and accurate. ✨


This system isn't just about training; it's about empowering your team to operate with consistency and excellence. It frees up your time to focus on bigger strategic moves, knowing the foundational work is being handled efficiently. Investing in clear processes is investing in your business's future growth and resilience.

3 rules to approach the weekend

The weekend often brings a moment of reflection, doesn't it? 

It's a natural time to pause and consider how we navigate our weeks and what truly matters. 


Here's what I find works:

★ First, during the week, aim to work both good and hard. If you can't manage both, prioritize working good. Because honestly, working hard without purpose or quality just doesn't add up to much. It's about effectiveness, not just effort. ✅

★ Second, take a moment to genuinely thank the universe for the time you have on this planet. It's so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, but a little gratitude can shift your entire outlook. It reminds you of the bigger picture and all the opportunities available.

★ Third, and this is crucial, when it's possible, create a clear separation between your work and your personal life. Cherish your loved ones. If you don't have loved ones currently, then love yourself fiercely! That good energy and those positive actions will naturally attract your future connections. It's amazing how that works. 🚀

This approach isn't about being lazy; it's about being intentional with our energy and our time. It's about building a life that's not just productive, but also deeply fulfilling.

Business comes about when you solve pain.  As a LinkedIn business consultant (and this applies to the service-based and B2B industry), I know this all too well.

How I became a LinkedIn Business Expert.

So, I was thinking back to when I first started out, and it wasn't just about having a killer portfolio, you know? It was way more about whether people actually liked you. 😂  Kind of like real-life dating, but for business! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Back then, I totally bombed at the "dating" part of business development. I'd go in too strong, too fast, which is a recipe for disaster when you're trying to build genuine connections. 🤦🏻‍♂️ It took me a while to realize that old-fashioned dating principles, believe it or not, are gold for business! ✨

Think about it: 
What do you do when you're trying to get to know someone? You listen, you understand their world, you support them where you can. You're not just pitching yourself, right? You're building rapport. 🤝

That's exactly what I started doing. I took those tried-and-true dating techniques – the systems, the understanding, the support – and applied them to my business outreach. And guess what? It WORKED! 🚀 We were able to bring in clients because we focused on building real relationships first, not just making a sale.

You have to be "Mentally Thick" as an entrepreneur. And you will take the occasional beating. 

It is not really what happens to you, it is how you handle it. 

You know, in sales, it's easy to get knocked down. 

I’ve been there. 

Seven deals lined up, all looking promising, then BAM – they all fall through, and the money just… vanishes. 

It’s a massive hit to your confidence, that’s for sure. 🤯 

You have to develop a certain thickness, a resilience, to push past that and remind yourself that maybe, just maybe, those weren't the right clients, or maybe you missed something in the process.

Don't dwell on the "what ifs" but focus on improvement. 

If you can refine your service or product based on those experiences, that’s where the real growth happens. It’s that constant drive to be better, to learn from every setback, that separates those who eventually succeed from those who give up. ✨

→   Acknowledge the Blow: It's okay to feel discouraged. Sales is tough, and rejection is part of the game. Don't beat yourself up.
→  The Mental Thickening: You need to cultivate a mindset that sees these setbacks as learning opportunities, not failures. Every deal that doesn't close is a data point.
→  Process Over Personality: Shift your focus from personal blame to analyzing the sales process itself. Where did things break down? What can be improved for next time? Also, using a proven method for sales systems on multiple channels really does help drive your brand and business (we do this for our own clients' success). 

★ LEARNING FROM THE FALLOUT 💥
→  Client Fit Analysis: Were these clients truly a good fit for your offering? Sometimes, a "no" is actually a "yes" to finding a better-aligned customer.
→  Process Refinement: Look at every step of your sales cycle. Was there a miscommunication? Was the value proposition not clear enough? Was the onboarding process too complex?

2 places on LinkedIn that build relationships and authority.

Had a recent conversation about where people actually convert on LinkedIn. 


🙋🏻‍♀️ My take? 

It's mainly two places: your content/posts and your direct messages. 


Everything else, like events or booking meetings, is usually a follow-on from those. 🚀

That's exactly why we designed Skoop - Instant Video – to make those key touchpoints SO much more effective.

Or maybe you already have decided what you want to do and looking to put that to a test.As someone who has changed many jobs and after being a stay at home mum for 10 years, I took to linkedin and started offering value upfront and not only did I have offer of many jobs but also partnerships. At the time I was working 17 hours a day during covid. Now my husband and I have successfully set up a a pilot of a group of men supporting men Who some are now working on a mini project whilst supporting each other (we are not talking money yet)This was 5 people who did not even know of each other prior to this and all in the period of 8 weeks.Now we are looking to do a similar pilot for the ladies and potentially married couples next. Hi, Where do you live?

A random WhatsApp text I received over the Christmas holidays. 

The sender did not appear to have a name.  I thought they may have been one of the 14K people who had previously had access to my mobile number over COVID.

After a few to and froms, He told me his name was Jamal from India who had lived in Dubai for a few years. He liked my DP and was killing time.

The DP was none other than my husband and I and our son appearing in an 1980s end-of-school Party, linked to Home ed.

He wanted to know my nationality and proceeded to tell me he was a muslim. To which I responded, I grew up all over the place so I cannot put a nationality on myself. That did not seem to satisfy his curiosity, and he insisted he knew which country that DP was taken.

He then sent me a disappearing Pic and I replied, I do not open disappearing pics. This behaviour is not helping me feel safe.

I tried to steer the conversation to what he does for living. It turns out he was a relationship expert. 


Which brings me on to say, what kind of a relationship expert thinks it is okay to proposition a married women via WhatsApp and ask for her picture?

Are values completely out of the window nowadays?

Why is it that things like looks, scents have replaced the real human touch?

What if he had picked up the phone and spoken to a member of his family, checked up on them? Is this person likely to meet some other foreign national who happened to send him her pic?

What if he had gone for a walk in nature and thought about what he wants out of life? 

Why is it that superficial sharing has replaced real human interaction?

So what happened next, I hear you say, I offered to set up a meeting with my husband being present or alternatively, I could appear off camera. He said yes to the latter, but first insisted on that pic.

Oh no, not back to that again. So I proceeded to share a video I had put together for my UBS, and I suggested he watch it to get an idea of the kind of things I am interested in talking about. Followed by asking him some rather deep questions, and with that, he disappeared.

Eg: sharing deeply in one area = Closed mouth kissing!
