Here’s the story:

Jeremy, in the shadows, helped me launch my book in 2023. 

Then rescued me from all the techie crap — building my email list, setting up systems, the stuff I’m useless at. 

The truth is I can’t even get my microwave to stop flashing 12:00.

In exchange, I taught him the sales stuff that took me 20 years to figure out.

He applied every bit of it with a consistency I’ve never had.

Now he’s clearing numbers most people only dream about.

And straight up:

I couldn’t be prouder.👏👏

This is the thing nobody tells you about teaching what you know:

The best students don’t just learn your lessons.

They take your 20 years and compress it into 2 years. 

Doing > IQ’ing. 

Then they leave you in the dust.

And if you’re doing it right, that doesn’t sting.

It’s the whole point.

But there's a sneaky mistake you're probably still making and it's tanking your conversations before they start. 

I call it unconscious commission breath. 

65 seconds. 

I know that's an eternity if you're 19. You're not.

Reps. Practice. Failure. More reps.

So why do we think selling is different? 

That you either "have it" or you don't?

55 seconds. Not a TikTok dance. Actual grown-up stuff.

Big words don't make you look smart.

They make you look like you're hiding something.

Simple sells. Jargon repels.

I call it the "5 cent word" rule and it's one of the easiest fixes in selling with dignity.

That stopped being a pattern interrupt about 47,000 YouTube videos ago.

My mom turned 90 last Sunday.

If you called her with this line, she'd pause, sigh, and in the sweetest voice imaginable say:

"Oh honey. Did reading that off your script make you feel powerful? Or did your soul leave your body a little?"

Then she'd hang up. Gently. Because she was raised right.

Yesterday's pattern interrupt is tomorrow's worn-out line.

As the first Director of Teaching & Learning Innovation at College of the North Atlantic, I get to bring together my passion for adult education, authentic leadership, and coaching. Responsible for building a brand new unit, I am inspired by our faculty members and my colleagues every day. 

As a Certified Executive Coach, I work closely with educational leaders who want to lead with greater impact, drive innovation, and foster healthy communication in their organization: all things that we know are desperately needed in today's rapidly-changing #HigherEd environment.

In addition to being a Certified Mentor Coach (RRU) and an accredited coach with the International Coaching Federation (PCC) with over 1000 hours of coaching experience, I am a skilled facilitator with a career in adult education. My practice as a certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator allows me to help clients challenge the limitations of traditional problem-solving and focus on what they want more of. 

As an ultra endurance cyclist, I am passionate about sport, advocacy, setting big goals and trying to achieve them. I enjoy sharing the lessons I've learned as a result of my sport, and the importance of taking care of our physical wellness in order to bring our best selves to work.
