Now he’s clearing numbers most people only dream about.

This is the thing nobody tells you about teaching what you know:

The best students don’t just learn your lessons.

They take your 20 years and compress it into 2 years. 

Doing > IQ’ing. 

Then they leave you in the dust.

And if you’re doing it right, that doesn’t sting.

It’s the whole point.

So why do we think selling is different? 

That you either "have it" or you don't?

55 seconds. Not a TikTok dance. Actual grown-up stuff.

Big words don't make you look smart.

They make you look like you're hiding something.

Simple sells. Jargon repels.

I call it the "5 cent word" rule and it's one of the easiest fixes in selling with dignity.

That stopped being a pattern interrupt about 47,000 YouTube videos ago.

My mom turned 90 last Sunday.

If you called her with this line, she'd pause, sigh, and in the sweetest voice imaginable say:

"Oh honey. Did reading that off your script make you feel powerful? Or did your soul leave your body a little?"

Then she'd hang up. Gently. Because she was raised right.

Yesterday's pattern interrupt is tomorrow's worn-out line.

Like many sales people here, great big fun is having an interesting and substantive chat about selling and sales craft with terrific people.

I had the pleasure of just that - a long discussion about selling with sales guru David Rashty and his BIND live coaching group.

It was a blast - with plenty of great questions from the attending participants. 

David is a super nice, extremely solid guy, coach and presenter through his CraftingPremium program and BIND, his sales community.
