Mark C. Updegraff moved to Rochester, NY in 1997 to pursue his Bachelor's of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Imaging and Photographic Technology.  As an undergraduate student he participated in co-operative work academic quarters for NASA, Pictometry, and as an independent 4x5 film photographer.

In 2003, after working for Kodak, Mark took a position in RIT's Center for Imaging Science and began his Master's studies in Color Science.

Mark took a position with ITT Corporation in 2009 where he worked on video quality metrics, end-to-end spectral imaging systems, and electro-optical systems for high altitude aircrafts.  

In 2010, Mark decided to focus his efforts fully on his real estate redevelopment companies; Wedge Redux LLC, Ward Redux LLC, and Raze Capital LLC.  These companies rehabilitate neglected properties into fully refurbished, market rate, rental homes in the greater Rochester area.

Mark now oversees Updegraff companies in the development, management and brokerage of residential, commercial, and mixed-use real property.  His vision for Upstate NY, real estate, and technology are evident through his plans and generated results.  

Mark is a city of Rochester advocate, employer, entrepreneur, and business owner.  He is passionate about striving to provide safe, clean, affordable, sustainable, adaptable, space for the community at large while garnering the best and brightest minds in an effort to stimulate the economy through creativity, innovation, and workforce development.

Currently Mark spends time raising capital for syndications in the industrial, multifamily, self storage and built to rent asset classes while overseeing the operations of the Updegraff Companies.  His leadership style attracts other leaders eager to deploy new technologies, hone their skills and take massive action.  Under his guidance associates are able to independently flourish into peak producers in their own strengths. Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce

Revitalize and enhance Chamber monthly events to be cutting edge and catering to a variety of members by conducting market research plan and implement new events
Schedule and maintain events for the calendar year to help with long-term planning and effective event management 
Identify and recruit event series presenters/speakers
Identify and secure venues to host Chamber monthly events
Identify potential revenue streams for Chamber events to maintain budgetary requirements 
Maintain and update event sponsorship package
Solicit and secure corporate sponsorships
Manage all aspects of signature events such as the Rochester Chamber Top 100 Awards dinner, and the ATHENA Awards dinner 
Work with appropriate individuals to develop and monitor timelines and deadlines related to all aspects of events, ensuring the information is communicated with staff and all parties concerned
Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgets to ensure revenue and expenses are kept within established boundaries 
Provide post-event analysis, budget recaps, and incorporate learning into future event planning
Oversee Rochester Chamber affiliates: Women’s Council, Small Business Council, Greater Rochester Quality Council, Hispanic Business Association, and Associated New York Food Processors 
Work with affiliate presidents to ensure that affiliate branding meets Chamber requirements
Provide and review Affiliate’s Operational Manual with all incoming affiliate presidents that contain pertinent information such as – by-laws, organizational chart, Affiliate management services, affiliate contract, etc.
Prepare and present approved affiliate contracts to affiliate presidents on an annual basis
Implement strategies with Rochester Chamber membership department and affiliate boards to incorporate affiliate member benefits with Chamber membership
Assist affiliate board members in cultivating, recruiting, and training volunteers on events planned, as well as defining expectations

Director of Events Training & Affiliates

•	Managed RBA's Top 100 awards & the ATHENA Awards gala luncheon, GRQC Performance Excellence Awards and Young Women of Distinction Scholarship awards, among other monthly programs, seminars & networking events
