VOLUMES is a global innovation laboratory committed to supporting the emergence of local ecosystems for positive impact through research, consulting and training in the field of social innovation, circular economy, sustainable food and digital fabrication.

Started in 2015 as the first prototype of Creative and Productive Hub in Paris, Volumes has hosted some of the most vibrant communities of the Parisian social innovation scene and powered a number of initiatives that grew out into independent organizations, including one of the first Foodlab in Europe, a Makerspace, the Fab City Grand Paris initiative and the cooperative Oasis 21.

Volumes is involved in several research projects and runs a number of educational programs, while supporting and consulting different public and private organizations through Europe.

CivicWise is an international distributed and open network that promotes citizen engagement, developing concrete actions and projects based on collective intelligence, civic innovation and open design.

I co-founded CivicWise during a London residency to promote collaborative urbanism and civic
engagement with simultaneous international and local dimensions. The organisation's objective is to
facilitate knowledge exchange at a global level that promotes activities in local contexts, and it is
based on a model of distributed governance, where projects are developed locally by independent
local nodes.

Fairbnb.coop

A non extractive alternative to the current vacation rental platforms, that works to connect conscious travelers with fair hosts to promote stronger, more sustainable and equitable communities around the world.

I was in charge of coordinating the actions that will allow the fairbnb.coop alternative platform to operate in direct connection with the local communities, while respecting the right to housing and generating circular economy processes.

My work was focused on generating an innovative connection between the digital platform and the local communities including citizens, hosts and local administrations. One of my main responsibilities was the management of the team in charge of the relationship with the ambassadors and the local administrations.

The process has focused on experimenting spaces, tools and participatory methodologies that accommodate new dynamics within the entity. This approach has allowed to generate horizontal communication spaces where to find specific improvement fields, work on them and implement them through the collaboration of all the people close to the entity: internal staff, citizens, companies and collaborating entities.

Coordination of a master plan for the City of Guatemala's smart city strategy as the United Nations
Development Programme's (UNDP) international expert. To deliver this project I worked directly
with a range of actors from the municipal authority, technical experts, and politicians, to a series of
private and public entities.

Cercamia, a complementary and glocal currency platform for the promotion of collaborative processes for local communities connected at a global level.
My role in this startup was to foster the development of the community around the platform by promoting synergies and collaborations both locally and globally.

Civic Designer, Researcher, Consultant, Entrepreneur and Activist. I design and develop processes and tools to help local authorities, organizations, companies and universities to collaborate with citizens for the common good.

I am an international consultant on urban and regional policies with special focus on Citizen Urbanism and Civic Design processes.

I am a promoter of several spaces, networks, platforms and communities known for their capacity for innovation, civic transformation and development of alternative economic models. Among them are Volumes Lab in Paris, Factoría Cívica in Valencia, the platform Ciudades Comunes, the international network CivicWise, and the Escuela de Innovación Cívica.

I am driven by professional and entrepreneurial action with purpose, which is why I have also collaborated with projects such as Fairbnb.coop and Cercamia to move from theory to action and to transform consolidated social and economic practices towards fairer and more respectful models of local communities. 

I am the biggest global promoter of the practice of Civic Design, for this I often hold conferences, coordinate workshops and specialized courses, as well as edit publications and research among which the Whitepaper of the Civic Design Method stands out.

I teach in different universities in Europe and Latin America.

Implicación directa como voluntario, para trabajar en cambiar la visiones que aún existen llenas de estereotipos y tópicos en torno a las Altas Capacidades, y que perjudican al colectivo, pensando en mejorar la vida y facilitar un entorno educativo, social y cultural más amplio, diverso e integrador. Tanto para los niños y niñas, como los adultos.

Paralelamente,  sigo como responsable del área de comunicación y estrategia creativa de la Asociación, rol que mantengo desde que soy socio voluntario.

Como socio voluntario, me incorporo a los equipos de trabajo con el foco puesto en cambiar la percepción de las Altas Capacidades que existe actualmente, basada en estereotipos que pueden estigmatizar tanto a niños y niñas como adultos, para mostrar la realidad que hay detrás de una persona con AACC y poder sumar, junto a otros colectivos, en la mejora tanto tanto de la estrategia educativa como la social y el bienestar en general de estas personas.

That combination helps me to find different solutions from different points of view, focusing on innovation and impact society.

🔴 Muchos me conocéis por este proyecto. Son muchos años, más de 14, de algo que comenzó por un interés personal, profesional y social al ver como cambiaba mi ciudad. El trabajo altruista de estos años ha desembocado en que ahora esté haciendo un doctorado vinculado al #PatrimonioGráfico. Con el tiempo, el interés fue calando en la sociedad, generamos a nivel nacional una red y aquí una comunidad. 

Este mes hará 6 años del paso a rescatar esos rótulos de su desaparición, los metíamos en casas, oficinas y trasteros. Tuvimos la suerte de que nos cediesen un espacio que nos sirvió para seguir trabajando en rescatar estas piezas urbanas de Santander y otros municipios, y poder almacenarlas. 

Hemos montado 2 exposiciones y la gente nos está donando desde bolsas a papelería comercial. Y tenemos más #rótulos por recoger... estamos cerca de los 80, 200 bolsas y otros tantos materiales gráficos desde Etiquetas a papeles de envolver.

❗ Ahora nos tenemos que ir de donde estamos, que resulta es un mercado de la ciudad que se transformará en un Mercadona y no tenemos sitio. 

La #cultura y el #patrimonio es maravilloso cuando tiene ese impacto social. Y así lo he vivido cuando hablas con la gente, ve las piezas, y ves que generas un vínculo ciudad-comunidad único en base a nuestra tipografía y #memoriacolectiva

Mi sueño, la verdad, es que tengamos un sitio estable en Santander o Cantabria, que nos sirva para poder seguir rescatando nuestra identidad local, ponerla en valor y tener un espacio vivo de memoria y cultura que sirva para muchos colectivos profesionales vinculados, desde historiadores, arquitectos, diseñadores gráficos a los propios vecinos y comerciantes. 

Pero para ello necesitamos ayuda. Si conoces o tienes interés, tienes mi perfil totalmente abierto!

Santatipo busca sede urgente para evitar que el patrimonio gráfico de Cantabria se quede sin hogar

La asociación cultural, que custodia más de 80 rótulos históricos y cientos de piezas comerciales rescatadas, debe abandonar el Mercado de México de Santander ante el inicio de las obras y hace un llamamiento a instituciones y ciudadanía para encontrar una solución estable. El patrimonio gráfico de Cantabria está en riesgo. La Asociación Cultural Santatipo, fundada en 2014 con el objetivo de documentar, rescatar y difundir la memoria visual comercial de la región, deberá abandonar el espacio que actualmente ocupa en el Mercado de México de Santander ante el inminente inicio de las obras....
